Have any of you played this game? It is adventure released in 1998. Gamespot rating 9,3 superb (out of 10).
I have heard that this is awesome game, one of the best ever made. I haven't got a chance to play it though. Pls. advise, is it worth to look for it? I understand that graphics are old, but they say that story line is super.

I think the graphics still look good even now. I liked it a lot. Avoid looking at a walkthrough unless you are truly stuck!

I've played it recently, but stopped because I cannot hear any music from my PC now (cable to the headphones broken).
I like it, but is is completely *without mouse* !
Nevertheless, you'll soon get accustomed to it. The way of playing reminds me of the RPG game Gothic.
The game gives you some kind of insight into the mexican culture - the way they deal with death. Also, I like the whole style of the game.
It's quite a weird mix, imho, but I like it. But I think a support for mice would've been better.

Is it like Planscape Torment ? The story about after-death filled with drama, with wonderful plot? I just want to be sure I understand the genre of it, what is it about.
I remember some time ago, probably on Planescape forums, I was told that if I liked PST, I definitely should play Grim Fandango. Are these games close to each other ?

I can only say go for it! Grim Fandango is one of my favorites! Great plot, great atmosphere, great music, great voice acting, great graphics... kind of hard sometimes, but really really worth it!

I still try to find a better game than Grim Fandango. You must play that my friend.
But.....It is an ADVENTURE game! It is totally different from RPG's. It is like Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Longest Journey, Syberia. You must play these as well.

You should all try Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2. Good point 'n' click adventure games, althought it is a bit cheesy!
Its FrunkHelm! The Nerevarine!
Free the slaves!
Arcanum - Probably the best RPG ever!

I'd have kept playing Grim Fandango, but the control made me truly nuts. Give me point-and-click interface any time.

Simon the sorcerer 2 contains one of the funniest scenes I have ever seen in a computer game. On a shack way up in the mountains you find a group of pen and paper roleplayers and if you just stand in the background and listen to them game.........man o man, I almost wet myself laughing. Hysterical.

Found this thread thru the search facility, i am currently finding my way thru Grim Fandango and finding it hard to say the least, but all the same it is quite brilliant, the control system i didn't find to difficult, but some of the puzzles/ways to progress are above my IQ level me tinks , i have used a walkthrough to progress a couple of times or else i would have had to put the game away. I am currently trying to board the Limbo in Rubchunga,i have just managed to drug Naranja.

I just finished it awhile ago, and had to use a walkthrough a couple times myself. Once I tried to pick up something, which failed, then continued on my way until I hit a dead end. I checked the walkthrough, and I needed to go pick up that thing. I had tried too early before, though it was not directly related what I had to do first.

You should all try Simon the Sorcerer 1 & 2. Good point 'n' click adventure games, althought it is a bit cheesy! No offence but it's a direct ripoff from the Discworld adventure games. The company's making The Call of Chtulhu action/adventure game. I really hope it'll be good... I hope for THEM, that is. As for Grim Fandago, it's considered the BEST RPG EVER. Not by me but in general.

Maybe, but Simon 2 is the ONLY game so far where I've encountered a more or less real role playing group !
