I manually installed the game exactly as stated for that kind of install. I installed the reg file for win 2000/XP and then install patch 1.34. in config tool i selected the defualt and skip test as I have a radeon 7500 card set to 16-bit color. the game started fine and I played for a bit, then saved and exited the game. When I tried to play again, I recieved the following:

Hi,

What do you mean with a manual install?
Did you have problems before?
Which patches did you apply already?

sk8, are you refering to the manual install and troubleshooting thread by Raze? The manual installation sent to a gamer from CDV?

Manual installation and trouble-shooting? click here

And the other info was from your search results about trouble with Radeon cards (skip test, 16 bit etc)? Did you remove the read-only flag from the data files?
And why did you try manual installation? What went wrong with the usual procedure?

Manual install as stated by CDV Tech support using WinRAR. I am sure you seen it else where on this forum. I had the infamous CRC errors which is why i did the manual install. the only patch i applied is the lastest (ver 1.34, 10.3 megs).
the problem(s) appeared before and CDV told me to uninstall/resintall manually which I did.
I am no expert with WindowsXP but this game is driving me nuts.
extra info
directx ver = 9.0a
drive c = 40 gig
file system = NTFS
swap file = handled by OS
cd drive = ASUS 52x24x52 CDRW
I only asscended the ladder before I had to exit the game, so I do not belive i did anything wrong and i saved the game EXACTLY as the game manaul stated.

the answer to the first three questions is yes.
the reason for the manual install was because of CRC errors.

sk8,

Did you contact the CDV support? Or did you take the info out of this thread ?

So far, I don't have any clue with your problem...
Can you explain a little more what you did so far?
Could you play the game already?
The patch 1.34 is the only patch you ever applied?
Could you ever make a savegame without having a problem?

Sorry for all the questions, but the more answers, the better we can help you out.

I believe you deleted the wrong folder: You wrote in your 1st post: "selected all video modes and deleted the static folder"

The static folder should NOT be deleted. You can empty the /divine Divinity/Run/Dynamics... if you encounter problems - BUT not the folder itself. Only what's in it.

€:I recommend bringing back the CD's to your trader, they might be defect.
