Posted on Bioware's forums: "We wanted to give the community a heads-up on a recent decision to move the launch of Dragon Age: Origins for the PC to the last half of 2009. That’s a change from the previously announced date of March 2009.
Why is this happening? Both EA and BioWare are really excited about the potential of the game on both PC and consoles and we want to ensure we deliver a blockbuster, AAA BioWare-quality title - as the game is shaping up so well already. An incredible amount of time and effort has gone into Dragon Age: Origins and this extra time will ensure we deliver the quality kind of launch you have come to expect from our games."If its towards the end of 2009 maybe Larian can beat them to the punch by a few months. The less competition (at least initially) the better - especially from a company that large.

Yeah it stinks. So many good games this year, so much more waiting to do. Maybe this should have gone in the RPG forum?

yeah, I just found out yesterday night... really burst my bubble for a bit. But oh well, consoles have PC games by their balls these days, this will be a further blow for the old-school PC RPG player, and I know of a few who won't get it now. I'll still get it though, but only after the price has gone down and I'm tired of playing ED...

I can see why this is done and can live with it. But bring out the game soon, i need another divinity adventure.

Div2 is my last hope for a game in the first 2/3rds of 2009, so I hope it makes it in before the end of Summer, at least. Otherwise, PC gaming has hit the skids for me.

Drakensang should be out in a couple of weeks. It looks very nice, I played the demo. Speaking of which, can we expect a pre-release demo of Divine Divinity: Ego Draconis?
Is reality just a fantasy?

Why did they write "last half of 2009" ? Are there more than 2 halves in a year ?

Yep, the first half was the initial release target so they are simply making it clear they are aiming for the second half without giving anything more than a 6-month window (likely, it'll be late October or November to coincide with console releases).
Makes me want Div2 even more. I hope Div2 doesn't land among games in the second half where I won't have time to enjoy it thoroughly.
