howdy. it's been a long time since i've played this game and i've forgotten how to break through cracked walls -for instance, breaking through the southern wall of the cellar in the NE locked house in aleroth creates a path that brings you to the cellar where you encounter zombie jake.

help?

There are no breakable walls in the game, just entrances hidden by objects (crates, walls, etc) or illusions. There is a pile of packages (IIRC) in Jake's house covering a hatch to his cellar. I don't recall any path there from a different cellar (perhaps a pathfinding glitch got you through a wall?).

There is one cracked, breakable wall in Beyond Divinity, which requires a specific pickaxe (located nearby) to get through.

raze, are you sure about that? i actually remember reading a guide about breaking through the cellar in the NE house into jake's cellar, and then doing it myself.

-here's a screen to illustrate where -i think- you're supposed to do something to create a path to the cellar (it's by three barrels, which i think you have to move and which are not visible here)

and here's where -i think- the hole emerges (memory's fuzzy; it could be somewhere else). EDIT: it's a much bigger hole afterwards.

however this trick is done, i believe it must also explain how to reach off screen 'audible' friendlies and enemies you often see on the minimap -otherwise, i want another explanation for that :p

EDIT: example of audible, unreachable friendlies

are you sure about that?

Pretty much positive. Maybe it's possible, but I don't recall destructible walls ever being mentioned in the forum, and never found any myself. If the Larians were going to go to the trouble of adding destructible walls, though, you would think they would figure into at least a couple prominent quests or easter eggs.

The game has multiple areas, cellars, dungeon levels, etc on different 'maps'. Usually it only displays what you are suppose to see at that location, but sometimes you can see monsters on screen or the mini-map from areas close to where you are. I ran into a glitch in a game once, and got this screen shot of the map (30KB) showing several dungeons and sewers south of Rivertown, which normally are blacked out when not in each area.
Also, it is possible some areas were changed before release, leaving creatures stranded outside of the play area.

No breakable walls. You just go down into the cellar of Jake's house and he's there. I get that phenomenon that Raze showed all the time, where other areas are visible on the map.

hmm. very strange, but oh well; -oddly- i still can't find any info that pertains to creating paths or walking through walls, though i distinctly remember doing what i've described smirk many thanks for your replies! raze's reply has has answered my questions pertaining to unaccessible, offscreen units. if anyone else has any more questions pertaining to these issues, i leave this thread to them. cheers!

You sure you're not talking about Siege of Avalon, a similar looking game?^^
I remember that there was something like breaking through the stone/earth under the castle^^

Well, anyways, maybe you dreamed it, I do often dream about PC games (I love those dream adventures :D) and sometimes mix games in RL with games in dream... *coughs*

Hi Kyouri,
It might be worth checking the date of the previous reply before posting.
Some are like a year old.
but welcome to the forum anyway. smile
