We will have more information about the game soon. In software terms, 'soon' means in the next 6 months, or so.
Speaking of which, the Two PI Team was
introduced here a little more than a month ago, but hasn't done anything yet, at least in the forum. Are they terribly busy preparing stuff for D2:ED and dealing with other games, or is it more of a cushy union deal with lots of coffee breaks and 'safety' meetings? Not that I have anything against cushy union jobs...
P.S. Are they hiring?
I would think there would be at least some interaction with the environment. It would be hard to imagine designing a quest system with multiple paths for quests (up to about 20 IIRC), and then not putting any detail into the world itself.
A couple of Lar's posts were done while waiting for a meeting or on a train, IIRC. He may just be very busy now, or adding in the publisher and marketing concerns as the release gets closer makes releasing details more complicated.
Alternately, he may have been replaced by an alien pod person, who has no interest in the forum, but spends his days cultivating more pods to make sure there are enough to put one in every copy of D2:ED at release. Free bonus 'dragon egg replica' anyone?
