Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Game Running Incredibly Slow

The game installed fine, but runs incredibly slowly. The characters move so slow, it seems to take forever to get anywhere (even running). I've patched it to 1.34, and am running it under Vista. I even tried reducing the resolution to bare minimum, and turned off all the "extras" (Z-tunnel, etc.).

What's up? Any and all help is appreciated.

Have you tried running the configuration program and switching to Software or Direct Draw rendering mode?

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (anti-virus, etc) before starting the game?

Switching to DirectDraw mode seems to have solved the problem.
