It would be awesome if in D2 there was a creature book which you can get or it could be a part of the journal. And there would be allkinds of info on the creatures you fought.

Yes - the books in DD and bd were really funny - I hope too that there will be plenty of them in ED. But yes - a creature book or several ones that you had to collect would be cool.

It would be cool if there are some in-game rewards when collecting and reading books... for example, when you collect and "read" creature books we'll gain bonus (armor, damage, resistance etc) when we face that creature... stuff like that

I think there was a similar thing in BD: If one collected several books, one could gain a talent, or was that another game ? However, in BD you could learn reading the Raanaar language by books.

In the first Divinity - if you researched enough volumes in the Merchant's Guild archives, you'd get a point in the Trader's Tongue skill. It would be cool if there are some in-game rewards when collecting and reading books... for example, when you collect and "read" creature books we'll gain bonus (armor, damage, resistance etc) when we face that creature... stuff like that Yes, or something similar to The Witcher, where you had to find books about creatures in order to collect parts from them and to find out their resistances and weaknesses.

I love the concept of collecting lore leading to benefits for your character. All that matters to me is that whatever benefits are given that they have an impact on the gameplay.

Divinity had spell books that taught you spells when read. Even had a mini-quest to get the owner of the mage shop to listen to some bard outside while you ransack his bed room, one item was a spell book in there.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

I would be intereested in spelllbooks or ordinary books teaching you useful skills or information in the new game. Even had a mini-quest to get the owner of the mage shop to listen to some bard outside while you ransack his bed room, one item was a spell book in there. No, this a) was no quest, but instead a kind of "exploit", as I consider this, It wasn't a quest, but it's not an exploit, it was put in deliberately. It's the only way you can steal from the back room of that store, and stuff worth stealing was specifically put back there. Exploiting is when you can use containers you bring into stores to steal from shelves without the owners caring.
