I just saw a teaser movie of this on Eurogamer. I'm looking forward to this! I loved Divine Divinity and I've been hoping for a new game by you guys ever since. Hopefully you can get some hype built up when the game is released and hopefully we'll see reviews of it all over the web. I would love for you to become the next big RPG maker, because I really don't like the Gothic or Elder Scrolls series.

I don't think Larian is about to go bankrupt... not before 'late summer', anyway.
They have (or at least had) other projects on the go (KetnetKick, etc), though I assume they have been concentrating on D2:ED for awhile. IIRC before or during early development of DD they did some programming for pinball machines, etc to pay the bills. Of course that is kind of irrelevant to your comment of the current state of the gaming industry, but being at least partly self-funded, Larian is not as susceptible to some of the problems developers can face.

Did you try Beyond Divinity? Just curious... it falls into the 'new game since DD' category.

Yep its still happening.
Its nearing completion they just finished with the Voice Actors.

Great news And that was interesting about the pinball machines! A lot of these smaller developers really struggle so it's great to hear about them doing what they can to cling on. There's a small independent RPG I once played that I really wanted a sequel to and they said on their forum they didn't make enough profit to justify it Not only that, but just the other day I read that 3D Realms went out of business (the makers of Wolfenstein!) and even the Microsoft division behind the Microsoft Flight Simulators have closed their doors... Times they are a-changin'. I just hope out of all this mess that the devs with the nicest ideas and funnest games manage to hold strong.

As for Beyond Divinity, I read about it but I read that it wasn't as good as the original so I skipped it. I probably would have tried but I've had a lot of games to play in the last few years. There is an MMORPG I play (not WoW) which I was playing 5 nights a week at one point But yeah, Divinity 2 I have high hopes for. I can't wait.
