Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Is Boomerang worthless?

I have been playing a rogue type character but I wanted her to be able to toss a dagger for the effect, but I have found that the boomerang hardly ever hits! In melee she hits with the dagger on just about every try but with boomerang it hardly ever hits. Am I doing something wrong? I know the damage goes at a % but does the hit chance go at a % as well?

I put 3 or 4 skill points into Boomerang (in a test save) after joining the warrior's guild to check it out. By the time I killed a group of lizards with boomerang I could have walked over, whacked them with my sword directly, and been long gone. Given how slow it was, I decided a bow or different spell would be much more effective for long range attacks, and re-loaded.

Heh, i bet "reflect missiles" probably does more damage than boomerang and costs nothing :P

I imagine it's made to go alongside Spear Expertise. Try that with the Trident of Atlantos perhaps?

Boomerang is, indeed, a waste of time. The only possible use I can think of for it is if you have yet to find a decent bow, and even then it's not that useful.
