Hello all, just wanted to say what a great game so far only been playing for a couple hours, yes there are some gliches but it looks like the developers put alot of effort into the game which I am really enjoying. Just a couple questions: I have never played the other Divinity games so I am not sure how to learn or skill-up in lockpicking I am running into a lot of chests etc which I cannot pick. Second is there any way to track my quests?

thanks in advance!

Isn't that described in the manual? You may get a faster response asking in the German D2:ED forum.

The skill system has changed from the previous 2 games, but if the interface is remotely similar, when you select a skill in the skill tree (or list), there should be a description of the next level (effect and level requirement, if any), and some kind of plus sign or checkmark button to assign any free skill points to the selected skill.

Did you try attacking locked containers? In DD you could smash open locked barrels or vases with a melee attack (though not chests). That was no longer the case in BD, but they may have brought it back.

There is a quest log. Try the hitting the 'q' key, or check the game options to see if a quest log is listed in the assigned hotkeys. In the previous games if you opened the map there were icons there to switch to the quest log, etc...

Welcome to the forum. wave

this doesn't work any longer in d2:ed. not all containers can be opened by lockpicking. sometimes you have to find a key, a password or solve a quest related to the container.

yes, it is. the manual has ~66 pages and is full of usefull information.

@allenstergess
after you've reached a new lvl, press k and you'll see the skilltree, choose the lockpicking skill and press the arrow on the right side to raise this skill.

to track your quest, press L on your keyboard.

Lockpicking:
Each chest has a level. To pick it you need a Lockpick skill of equal or higher level (Fähigkeiten, 2nd colum from the right. You might have to scroll down)

Some chests and doors can't be picked. Then the message "Dieses Schloss kann nicht mit Schlösser knacken geöffnet werden" appears in red.
Be careful, the message that you lockpick skill is too low is also red.

All quests you have are tracked in the Tagebuch. I haven't found the key to open it directly. I simply open the Inventory and then select the Tagebuch slide.
