Having played both Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity I am waiting for Ego Draconis. When will it be available in the US or can I purchase it as a download?

The English PC version should be available in September; no exact date or English publisher has been announced yet. There is also no word yet on whether the English version will be available by downloadable distribution.

I believe the German version can be downloaded from a couple places. With a bit of tinkering it is possible to switch it to English text (German voices), but with the official English release not too far off I have not bothered with that. There are several people who have done this language switch in the Help/Tips/Tricks forum, though.

I believe they'll announce it around the GamesCom.

Hopefully, both of you guys are right and they announce a solid September date. I would love to spend some time with this game before Dragon Age drops. Or for that matter, before Risen and Alpha Protocol drop as well.

This is a message I got from Claas Wolter!

Quote
"Hi *********,

thank you very much for your kind email and your warm words on Divinity II – yes, we’re very happy with this game and all the positive feedback it’s gathering.

We’re very close to finalize negotiations with distributors for the UK and the US, so that we can’t tell you their names yet – but we will announce them shortly and let you know asap.

We will be showing the English version of Divinity II to the international press who is attending our business center booth – so yes, it’s there. (He Means at GamesCom smile )

If you’re interested in presentations, just let me know.

All the best from Hamburg,

Claas J"

More hope for GamesCom announcement wink

Visiting dtp entertainment’s booth (Hall 8.1, Booth B030) at this year’s Gamescom show in Cologne (August 20th – August 23rd) will be a real fest for RPG players from all over the world.

They’ll see the world premiere of Drakensang: The River of Time and can play the game for the very first time. Drakensang: The River of Time is the prequel to the award winning PC RPG Drakensang: The Dark Eye.
RPG players also have the chance to check out the upcoming role playing games Divinity II: Ego Draconis and Venetica (both PC and Xbox 360®), as well as the PC horror adventure game Black Mirror II and So Blonde for Wii™ and Nintendo DS™.

Visitors of the dtp entertainment booth also have the chance to win big prizes: dtp entertainment is giving away a powerful gamer notebook, which is worth 1,500 Euros. This prize is sponsored by MSI.

Make sure to visit dtp entertainment’s booth B030 in hall 8.1 at GamesCom, Cologne, Germany (http://www.gamescom-cologne.com).

Looking forward to finally getting the date. I am already overloaded this fall as it is and I would like to know where to fit Divinity 2 in this year. I just hope that it does not come out in early October or early November. As between Alpha Protocol, Risen, Uncharted 2, Borderlands and Dragon Age, I am just not sure I will be able to find the time.

You have to admit, if it does release in the US this year they are going to be playing with fire from here on in. As if it releases in the middle of the fall horde, it will get absolutely buried. There are A LOT of high profile games hitting in the always packed holiday season....starting in late September with a little game that happens to have HALO in it's title (not that I care for Halo all that much, just saying).

Anyway, not trying to be harsh, as I want this game very much and want to see it do well. Just stating the obvious is all.

I Agree that larian HAVE to release D2 ASAP before its biggest competitors deliver the goods in early october (dragon age and risen as the most obvious candidates in the genre).

Quite honestly for me D2 is THE biggest event of the year, but for a lot of people thats not the case simply because of near non-existing PR in the US for larian games, and its quite pointless to compare EA to anything else in therms of selling figures.

Thank god for youtube, facebook and tweeter or else the divinity "series" would completely go unnoticed in the non-german market.

Indeed, That is why I specified that I hope it does not release between early October and early November. In early October I will be busy with Risen and Alpha Protocol. Later in the month I plan to pick up Uncharted 2 and Borderlands. Then of course November 3rd Dragon Age is dropping and well, that is my most anticipated game of the year.

As much as I also want Divinity 2, I am just wondering when I will be able to fit it in come October. I still plan on picking it up, regardless. It just may have to be later on....depending on when it releases of course.

September would be perfect for me because I really could care less about Halo: ODST and have nothing else on the buy list for that month. At this point I just do not see a September release, though. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

Alpha Protocol has slipped to the end of October (27th to be exact) according to various sites.

But...I'm thinking it might be worthwhile for Div2 to slip even beyond the rest of the fall games if it can't make it in September to North America, rather than going head-to-head with all the October/November games.
