I'd also like to see some new creatures and enemies in future games...Include more dragons...Red dragons, blue dragons, black dragons, green dragons, all sorts of dragons! I'd like to see maybe several eye of the beholders or even more...New creatures....maybe a goblin......include several medusas or many...that will be interesting...now players will have to try avoid turning into stone....include a hydra or two....or maybe even more....lets see....I'd also like to ride on a dragon's back and fight in the air....that might add a new twist.....dragon armies will also be interesting....and include more evil wizards in the game....put witches in there too....lots of witches....anyway, the point is I don't wanna see the same monsters again....maybe create some way in which the character we used in divinity can transfer over to other games? oh yeah...include giants in the next game....that might mean making more adjustments in how a character is developed....

Played to mutch BG havent you? All these monsters remind me of BG1+2. But watch out what you say about dragons around here, its kind of sensitive to some of the members

What is Bg1 and Bg2? Haven't heard of those games or played it...These were just ideas...Some came from Uukrul...Others came from Dungeons & Dragons actually....Others were just a mythological twist....
oh okay .....did you mean Boldur's Gate? Anyway, I haven't played Boldur's Gate....

Yep that was the one i was referring to Baldur's gate. But then again it is based on d&d. I think its a good idea to see some new monsters. I espetially like the goblin part...

My first thought: Garry Gygax is gonna sue somebody. But how many new monsters do you add without making it a gimick? If you had a quest - Defeat the Seven Champions of the Chaos Plane - you could probably work it into the story. Each enemy has a super attack that must be resisted (eg. Basilisk's stoning) and a weakness (eg. coincidentally placed scenery that can fall on it). Of course you could also kill them with bute force (stupidity). The idea might work.

For those of you too young to know that.

Aw man...I didn't know that. I actually thought that Garry Gygax was a funny name...Okay...My apologies to Garry...I just like seeing dragons and those monsters in future games. Actually, I'm not that young but then age is relative to a certain degree.

Gary Jackson is a relative of him ... well, no. He actually is a parody of him. Kenzer, the makers of the (in)famous Knights of the Dinner Table (KODT) invented him. He became known for his infamous top secret Jackson Document .

<purrrrr> Another KoDT fan. They also made mention of Steve Gygax once in the series as well.

IMO, all of those monsters are cliched and overused to death and beyond. Why make DD anymore cliched than it is already?
Planescape-esque monsters, now, or the more "exotic" D&D monsters... (Modrons, giths, to name but a few. Oh, and illithids. The tall, tentacled type has always made me quiver.)

I agree. Take Joe Dever's example (another Steve Jackson or Gary Gygax): "Take your standard everyday monster, but give it a different name. Everyone is sick of Orcs and Goblins, that's why I made Giaks."

Indeed, PST had wonderful creatures with histories and origins of every creature thoroughly worked out. All those baatezu, tanarri succubi etc each having it's own place in the ierarchy of planes. ohh and I forgot who are those illidiths.

I took a different approach: I don't want to have monsters as "Cannonfodder" , but I'd rather like to interact with the so-called "monsters".
Each one has (or at least should have) its own culture, which could lead to unique quests.
Quests which would be impossibly in human culture.
Also, I'd like more interaction with other beings - talking with spirits, riding with unicorns, listening to the wind.
I don't view "monsters" as something only there to produce experience points, I think that every "monster" has its own background. There are wraiths attacking me ? How did they come here ? Is this place cursed ? Who did it and why ? Can I actually talk with that person or what's left of him/her ?

I really like killing humankind races in RPG. Some beast are extraordinary funny. I dont know,it is their colour...it is their heads...it is their stupidity. I'd rather fighting a high lvl fighter human than an Orc leader.
Ok, i know!!! All these beasts, orcs, goblins, kobolds etc are consumables. They are exactly like Huruk-Hai. No matter how ugly, how big, how strong they are they will die. It is unfair for the beast...
You mad beastkiller!!! Have you ever thought about their feelings? Their families? When you kill an orc several orcish kids will struggle to survive because they lost their father...How cruel!
Ok, lets talk seriously! The only think i dont want to see is...many dragons in a game. Like BG 2. In my mind a dragon is a myth, even in fantasy world and very few managed to see one and stay alive. Killing a Dragon is the last gate that every RPG player want to come through. Dont wish to pass that gate very soon or...the force will betray you and you will join the dark side of the empire. And then the RPG Inquisition is waiting for your elimination!
Before i stop talking, I dont know why...but i want to remind you a scene in the Holy Grail of Monty Pythons, when they find a castle in the middle of the england with French soldiers in it!!
ATTACK!!!!ATTACK!!!
