so am in battle tower but there is some goblin in 2 floor as i understod from other posts . But i just cant find it.i have been in the 3-2-1 floor . And fire up the 2 candles and there was a room but still no goblin . I search for other swiches but still nothing . And searched all boxes and stuff. In the map i can see the room is bigger and there is something in other side of wall i think . Plizzz tell what i am doing wrong and where is the goblin which dont speak.

He should be on the library floor... he's standing in the far end of the library, look for a green dot on your minimap if you've troubles finding him.

Edit: Might also have something to do with the copy protection (in another game by this publisher an important NPC disappeared in cracked copies of the game), so if you're using a cracked game or are playing without the DVD, insert the original DVD, remove the crack and reload an earlier save.

The room looks a bit fancy, has a red carpet and a ton of books. There are a few bodies on the ground. The one book case, when searched, has a few books your character will look at. Is this the library your in? It is pretty bright having candles all around. It is also considerably smaller than the one with the ghost librarian.

I have the same problem.
blew up the stones in the basement and got a key of a dead dragon slayer.

Floor nr 1 is locked, and the quest marker says this is the room whit the book but how do i open the door ?

Floor nr 2 is the torture room i think, killed a strapped dude who dropped a key, cant seem to find the door for it tho. Lit the 2 candles in each side of the rooms and a extra door opend whit a chest. think there where a book or something. on the map the room seems to be bigger but i cant find any switches to get there and its this floor the goblin is on ?

Floor nr 3 is just a hallway whit a door locked.

Anyone know how i open the door on floor 1 where the marker says the book is or how i can unluck so i can get further in on floor 2 where the goblin is said to be ? and yes i read you need to mind read him but hard when you cant find him =)

Does it maybe look something like this becuse from what you have described looks exacly the same as my problem.

That green dot on the minimap is my minion and there is apsolutley no other green dots in the minimap's range thats the "torture room" and there is no other switches atleast not for me.

Ye, looks the same.. you can se on the map the room is bigger.. Can anyone tell us please how to find the goblin ? =)

I'm having this problem as well, and yes, my map looks exactly the same as yours. Anyone have an answer to this? Its quite frustrating.

The goblin isn't in that room. I believe the library is above it. Didn't you find a corpse that got up and attacked? The body was on a table, need to kill it to get a key if I remember correctly. Been a while since I've been there and it isn't accessible after becoming the dragon.

I'd have to play the game from beginning to your point to better help you.

Ye, the corpse dropped a key, but no door uses that key. and on other posts they say the goblin is on floor 2. but thanks for the help.

If its gone due to the copy protection and i need to replace my disk im screwed, a cusin sent me the disk as soon as i read there was a translate for it.

loved the game so far and i think copy protection is good but sucks when you get stuck like this =(

Larian staff member ForkTong seems to know exactly how to spot the copy protection messing up the game and since he didn't respond in this thread, I'd assume your missing something in here. So far it seems to be gaining no xp, character suddenly dieing when loading the game and teleporters not working.

Scroll down on the help/tricks board (might be on page 2 or 3 now) and go into the locked threads. Find his post so you can easily PM him, click his name, if you think it is copy protection causing your issue. He should respond within 24 hours, he's been really active here. Give as much detail as you can about what you've done and exactly where you are now. Stuff like killing the corpse that had the key will be very useful.

When you get a PM from him, at the top of the boards you see "forum list" "my stuff" "user list" etc, there will be a flashing envelope next to "my stuff".

Please let us know in this thread on what the result is.

After reinstalling the game and replaying all over i found out what it was... now i do not know how to put the "spoiler" sign so you can click it but il just say it here.

The thing that happend to me is that the elevator button was missing.You actualy have 4 floors.

-Basement Floor (this is where you kill an a abomination master and the key drops to open the LOCKED DOOR OF THE 1st FLOOR)

-Ground Floor (The initial floor where you talked to sassani and got the quest about the goblin)

-1st Floor (This is where the libary is and once you open the initial doors from the key found on the basement floor you will see a goblin inside and a libary. I REPEAT THE GOBLIN IS IN THE 1st FLOOR inside the libary past the initial door! Wont spoil what to do next as its simple)

-2nd Floor (Thats where the torture room is and you need to get a KEY from the abomination master layling on the table to the left in order to open a box to get the book)

-3th Floor (You go here after you have the book sassani will already be up there somehow )

Thats the entire elevator event.

Also before i did it i uninstaled the game and removed the save games, Installed a fresh copy patched to V1.01 German then placed an english pack and started the game all over.

Reinstalled the game and just loaded the save again, and you where right there where a lower floor aka morgue.

Dont know if i was sloppy but i think i looked but there where a button down after i reinstalled.

I read that SecuRom and other copy protection programs will slowly corrupt games the software deams as illegal. I'm hoping ForkTong will reply to this thread to confirm or deny if there is a problem with your game DVD.

It's been a few weeks since I've gone threw the battle tower so wasn't sure which floors were which. This thread will help others in the future.

too easy ...
there are 5 floor all.
after the speaking about the book ,then you will see the mark of book in the map, now I call this floor :floor 1

all of you just go up by the lift to floor 2 and 3, as we known, floor 2 is library,floor 3 is ..
floor 4 is hallway end with a closed door which could open when get the book in the library.

but if when you in floor 1 use the lift go down....you will see basement....here you can get the key to library.

Hey guys , i read the entire thread, however my problem persists: I have accessed to all floors, i have slain the first and second monster dudes, droped the two keys, i have retrieved them , the thing is , my map indicates me the location of a "book" but i just cant seem to find that book. I have no idea on what floor it is, or where it is hidden!
if someone could please help me i would be eternalyl grateful.

Might be me but I heard installing english packs and whatsoever can corrupt your game and cause extra bugs and crashes, as it shows in the posts above.

Also there was no support on having copies that been altered by non supported patches / cracks.

Ive played through the whole game without having any of these serious harming bugs that needed me to re-install.

i willl never be grateful enough .
Mind reading is really something i dont do, dont like to give up experience at all!
