I am in the last level (Black Lake Dungeon), and am facing Josephina. Every time I get near her, she disappears.

So my questions are:
1. Is there a way to prevent her from disappearing?
2. Is there a strategy to get an easy win?

I am a level 38 survivor, if that information helps.

Technically, she doesn't disappear, but Blinds you.
I found that fight a big a disappointment. She kept trying to summon a death knight, but I never gave her a chance to complete the spell. Idiot; she summons first, then casts a spell on the knight, then casts Blind... in that order, without skipping any steps. I didn't even lose any hit points. At least she ran away a bit several times, the first 3 Black Ring members stood their ground and repeatedly threw themselves at my sword. I had to re-load and let her complete the summoning to find out what that white sphere starting to form was for.

I had Stun level 5, which helped interrupt her casting. Even without Stun, if you can get the first hit in it really helps. Try running at her when the conversation is over, or Flash Attack if you have it. You can also Blind her first, cast Aura of Command on her death knight, or switch to area effect spells when you get blinded (like Hell Spikes or Deadly Disks). If you cast Curse on her a few times she is susceptible to Freeze, Life Leech, etc. Try scorpions, if you have/use them.

Thanks. I'll try that.

Yeah, Death Scorpions are *really* useful. They're tough, they do respectable damage, they distract the enemy from hitting you, and unlike summoning spells, you can have *TONS* of them loose at once (clearing the Council of Seven hall was a snap with 20+ scorpions roaming the place).

The only real problem with them is you have a limited supply.

I just finished that one, and found a cute (or maybe cheesy <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />) survivor (with mage abilities) way to win it fairly easily.

Before getting to Josie, I killed everything near the door. Then went into stealth mode and moved forward. Josie then said hello, but couldn't find me. Staying in stealth mode, and drinking stamina and restoration potions as needed, cast hellspikes (level 5) at her--move away in stealth when she gets too close, hunt her down in stealth when she get too far away. About all she seemed able to do was send the occasional deathknight after me--they are better at finding your character than she seems to be. I would pause to get rid of these things whenever they showed up, then return to Josie. Took a surprizingly long time, but worked.

The easiest way has to be:

1. Aura of command on her death knight
2. A few of scorpions
3. Cast blind at her before she gets to you.

I didn't loose a single hit point while doing this!
