I've just started to play this game yesterday thanks to kiya. And she already warned me that there were still some bugs in the game. So i was hoping all of you addicted fellows perhaps could post all the known bugs that were left so that new people like me can see what they have to pay attention to.

I believe all the major bugs that result in the game being unplayable have been resolved in the latest patch/v1.33.

I finished the game about a month ago and off the top of my head here are a few I noticed,

1. There is a display bug in the skills window when loading a save game with characters that have items that give +1 to a skill. The bonus is still applied, it's just not displayed correctly unless you re-equip the item.

2. Casting aura of command on a summoned demonic knight removes his magical lightning attack, and hence, is significantly weaker.

3. Instant Day/Night cycles.

Happy Adventures,

4. True Shot Ranger Skill is (apparently) bugged. I saw no noticable difference with this skill maxed. Even with no points one can be extremely powerful and complete the game easily with a good bow.

I think this is the bug I'm experiencing. I learned hell spikes a while ago, now I just got a necklace with hell spikes. When I wear the necklace, shouldn't I be level 2 in hell spikes? When I load a saved game, however, it says level 1. Are you telling me that the game acts as if I have level 2 in hell spikes even though it is displaying level 1?

Yeah,

I had an amulet early in the game that gave +1 elven sight, plus I had 1 skill point assigned to the skill as well. On reloading a save game, I could tell from the minimap that removing the amulet reduced my visibility, so effectively a +2 bonus was being applied, just not displayed correctly (only showing +1), unless the amulet was re-equipped.

I assume its the same for all other skills with +skill items, but I don't remember testing them. If it makes you feel better, I suppose one could always re-equip the items after loading, but that would be a little sucky, wouldn't it?

The way the game calculates the total points in a skill is a little strange. It seems to store the skill points assigned by the player and skill points from items as a single value, instead of keeping them separate, ie "base" skill points assigned to a skill within the skills window, and those given by items, and then displaying the sum of the two to the user.

I say this since lvl requirments are associated with skill levels, it should use the "base" skill points assigned by the player as the actual skill level, instead of the player having to unequip items that give +skill so you meet the level requirement, assigned a point in that skill, then re-equip the items.

If that sounds a little strange, don't worry about it. I'm not. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I know that calculation sounds strange and less intuitive, but it does let the game operate faster if it is made properly. If the game had to calculate the level of a skill everytime it was used, it would have to look through all your equipment for skill bonuses. Could you imagine Elven Stamina being re-calculated every frame? As long as the program is written properly (which it isn't quite) there should be no problems.

Augment Damage was only intended to apply to melee combat; same for the warrior's elemental, etc. damage skills.
