I am tying to get sir patrick to talk. All I am getting is 1) I'm interested in credit. ect.

If i remember correctly, use this speech option, he will then tell you about a person that owes him money - pay that off, and he will let you have it.

Sometimes you have to talk to the dwarven king, the dwarven smith and Sir Patrick a few times to trigger the speech option about the breastplate. There are a couple times after you bring it up where you can say 'never mind' rather than admit how valuable it is, in which case he will not talk about it again.

If talking to those involved a few times does not work;
