Tutorial_Arrival.wmv .. it has pretty nasty compression artifacts. And as it is at start of game, I would suggest improving it.

Otherwise.. using MPEG4 (or x264 codec), would be much better, along with OGG for sound.

I don´t think that if you now "can" have big files, that you must necessary create big files.. (I have DVD space in mind).

Its not much lol, when its "first impression from game". Then its more like "wtf?". Imagine any Blizzard game with this problem.. they wouldn´t do that.. ever.

I don't know Mescalamba, I've noticed compression artifacts in games/videos from blizzard too. I use x264 for encoding, but wmv format is a good choice for this game since pretty much any windows machine will have zero issues playing it back. Not all machines are equally happy with x264/h264.

Actually, some cinematics FMVs was improved in patch 1.02, you can compare things by playing old BV_Destruction.wmv video and the new one.
