Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Stuck at Easter egg Portal

I know there has to have been other questions about this but I can't get any answers from using search.
When I try to use the Easter Egg Portal,I get sent back to the start of the cave.In my inventory I have 3 treasure maps and a scroll[I believe is the 4th treasure map, it says. a wound was forced into the body of Stone].
I have 5 bottles of Dwarven ale [ I think it is Rimmer's ale, as I can't get any more from him].
I picked up the 4 ropes next to the portal,but my inventory shows it as 3 ropes with one of the ropes showing the number 5 and the other 2 ropes are singles.
I have the silver armour in my inventory,and I have dropped all my gold except for 2002.I do not have any other ropes, but I do have a lot of other goodies.
Can any one tell me what I am doing wrong, and what I need to do to fix the problem.

It sounds like you have some extra ropes. It should be 2 single ropes and a third rope with the number "2". Try dropping three of the ropes from the "5" pile.

If separating the rope doesn't help, and you don't have a recent save from before picking up the 4 rope at the teleporter pad, you can drop all the rope you have, and use the procedure in the topic below to replace them.

You should be able to get more ale from Rimmer through speech options (one at a time), rather than by the usual trade system. You do not need any more, though (at least for this).
