Hope someone here has some ideas to help me. I have been playing Divinity for a while and am currently a level 30 mage. I initially tried running in D3D, but that caused numerous crashes, so switched to DirectDraw (back around level 1 or 2). Anyway, the game has been quite stable since then until tonight. Now it crashes every few minutes (sometimes to the desktop, usually to the metal). I have not changed anything on this machine, and am running version 1.34 of Divinity. Specs are as follows:
Asus A7v266-E, Athlon XP2000+, SB Audigy, Radeon 8500, Sony CDRW.
1 GB RAM
80 GB IDE, 40 GB free
Windows XP Sp1
Direct X 9.0a
Latest SB driver
Latest Via driver
Latest Radeon driver (cat 3.4)
I'm not sure what to try next. Tried turning down the sound acceleration one notch, tried switching to a 16 bit desktop (gag), etc. Since the game ran fine for almost thirty levels, I guess I don't think it is a problem with my config. I really want to keep playing, but I am starting to get really bummed by all the crashes. Does anyone have any thoughts. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" />
