I thought this deserved its own thread.

Of course, the plotline is a continuation of the previous installments and we're still in Rivellon, but where have you found some reference to a sidequest or detail in Divine Divinity?

I sure hope I wasn't the only one who laughed when the smith in Lovis' Citadel spoke of skeletons falling apart because of 'existential thoughts', (The skeletons in the Catacombs in Aleroth) or when Zixzax the almost wise told about how he got stuck in this dimension. (I though he was called Antx, though. ._. )

You can also find some death knight paintings here and there.

Antx was the imp council member, Zixzax the historian, who indeed makes a reappearance.

By the way, there are many more references - big and small - so keep looking!

* Antumbra, the granddaughter of Penumbra
* Seth and his trusty blade Brightblade. Funny though, i killed him in Divine Divinity and there he is again, to kill.
* Patriarch, in a very predictable place.
* Mardaneus`s Equip set. Well, frankly just the name..
Can`t remember anything else that hasnt been mentioned.

Well, I've found many such references between game series. But - I'd like to talk about a real life references ;P

The one reference I'd like to talk about: Ulthring set. Few ppl, who did read a story.pdf that comes with DD1 know that the Ulthring was a powerful arhcmage who served to Lord of Chaos. And, as explanation why there is no weapon for this sword: Ulthring had the mightiest sword in Divinity Universe - a Sword of Lies. Ofc, one can use it since the Sword will eat wielder's soul. Also, it was destroyed in DD1, AFAIR.

A detail that make me smiling is that Zandalor says exactly the same words when you meet him the first time than he did for the Divine One. I would think the guy that wrote this part just copy-past from DD... Oh well I exaggerate a little bit but that's so similar! ^^

However, Seth's meeting disapointed me. Crap, he was a young and pride knight ready to defend Aleroth, and then he just want to fight anyone he meets -__- killed him just to give a lesson of humility.

Anyway, if I remember well, Buad had a tea to kill the Speaking Tree. Fun to find them again.

Another detail: one of the healers in Aleroth was called Otto, but he was taller than the dwarf healer we knew
