Gamestop has moved the date up to December 29. I noticed on the Gamespot website they have done the same on the Divinity II page. Looks like the US will be getting Divinity II a week early. Hopefully this holds up.

Trust me, I know better than to get overly excited. However, in this case, Jan 5 was no mere place holder date, but an announced date. To see a major retailer move the date up means that they were informed to do so. It also is noteworthy that Gamespot changed the date as well. At any rate, we shall see.

We can only hope. They'll be the first game of the new year. Getting the jump on Darksiders. Go, Divinity II!

My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

I think they have some wrong information, because it's not developed and published by Atari either wink

No matter, a week difference either way. I just saw the date was moved up and thought it was worth mentioning.

*Edit* I wonder how in the hell they got Atari confused with CDV, lol?

Well, I'm not sure if the PAL version works with NTSC consoles.

Anyways, I refuse to import this. I want to support CDV publishing these RPG's in the states. I want them to pick up Venetica. frown

MagizZziaN was referring to the PC version, which works fine between US/UK games/systems. XBox games must match the PAL/NTSC type of the console, so you can not import the UK version to the US, or vise versa.

I keep forgetting about Venetica. Are they currently looking for a publisher?

Nobody knows.
Lets just say we won't be seeing it this year.
My guess is Mid 2010.

I have some PAL games that work fine on my NTSC system. It all depends if the game is region-locked or not.

Well, Deck 13 hasn't updated any word on the game in quite a long time, so I'm not very hopeful in it getting a US release. I sooo wish it would.

They do have this in common:
http://www.dtp-entertainment.com/

It shows a PAL version on their site:
http://www.dtp-entertainment.com/en/games/xbox-360/game_detail.php?id=3173&landid=1

Divinity II dude and Venetica chick right next to each other, so I was hoping CDV would pick up publishing rights to Venetica, too, seeing as they like to publish this style of RPG it seems.

It looks so pretty. frown PLEASE BRING IT TO THE US!!!!

I still have a shred of hope since Jack Keane saw a US release, but none of the Ankh titles have (all from the same developer as Venetica).

Hoping to hear word on a US launch in 2010. frown Or at the very least a region-free PAL release.
