Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Edmund's chest at the start of the game

I've mindread edmund so that I could find the key, I also believe Ive found the chest in question, placed next to the magician, but how do I use the key with the chest? all I get is a message "my lockpicking is not high enough"
