A snip wich i agree 200%

"First and foremost, Ego Draconis is the living proof that good games are the result of a brilliant idea and dedication, rather then aggressive marketing and unswerving financing."

Conclusion:

If you are even remotely interested in playing a top quality RPG, with a narrative that hasn't been told and retold in every single game of the genre, then you shouldn't miss Divinity 2: Ego Draconis. For a company that doesn't spin millions, Larian Studios delivered a real gem, a sequel that surpasses the original in every imaginable way and should please even the most fastidious gamers.

Gameplay: 86

Divinity 2 is not a game to cruise through, thanks to the lengthy campaign, reasonable difficulty and the abundance of choices available at every stage, each one shaping the course of the future. Every important decision you make has reverberations throughout the rest of the story, so I wouldn't be surprised if people will choose to replay it, just a few minutes after reaching the final. Some players might feel a bit disappointed with the ending, but I give full credit to the game developers for not giving in to temptation and going for a predictable conclusion.

Graphics: 87

If you can afford to set the video quality on the very highest, then Divinity 2: Ego Draconis will charm you with some mesmerizing landscapes and overwhelming in-game cinematics. An incredible amount of attention was given to details, the design of characters, weapons and armors surpassing even the wildest expectations. There are plenty of dungeons to explore and the best part is none looks similar with the previous, the only common feature being the crushing feeling of confinement and desolation.

Sounds: 93

If we are to make some comments about the audio elements in Divinity 2: Ego Draconis, then it's impossible not to start with the outstanding voice acting. Some conversations are simply delightful with witty lines and characters that possess an amazing sense of humor, not to mention that every single quest giver has a powerful convincing voice. Furthermore the musical theme is dynamic and fits in properly, while some parts like those involving boss fights sound really majestic.

Hardware: 82

It takes a really powerful machine to run the game on the highest details and sometimes it pays off to make a few compromises, to enjoy the best gaming experience. The good thing is that you can still play a very good looking title by making just slight adjustments, not having to cut down heavily on details to keep the frame rate high and the action flowing smoothly.

PLaying the game myself now and i have to say i have mixed feelings about it. Everything in the game has a mix of good and bad, for example the graphics are beautifull, but the animations are very poor and there's a lot of stuttering in the openworld that is very very anoying.

PLaying with an ATI 5870 at 1920x1200, with always over 60FPS and vertical Sync activated, the game always has some kind of stuttering that doesnt make the experience smooth, when i move the mouse around, it always seems that the screen gets divided in half where one part is rendered ahead of the other, its very distracting.

About the gameplay, a few things could be done to make the experience more enjoyable, for example, having to target 50 containers in a small dungeoun to check if they are empty or not is tiredsome, few junk containers pleazor!

The combat in itself is nice (i'm playing ranger style), but it seems i'm either 1 shotting monsters, or i have to spend 30 seconds on each, it seems the dificulty balance is not very progressive!

The NPCs are brilliant. Some clichés here and there (and some faces that are too similar) but generaly they are quite fun to talk to and we never get bored of starting another conversation. The mind-reading is always a choice we ponder (Especialy when its over 400XP a cost) and the quests are in an ideal number (not too many, not too few).

Generaly i'm enjoying this game a lot. i Havent got the battle tower nor the necromancy ally not even the dragon form, wich are suposedly the strong parts of the game, and i'm already enjoying it a lot, but sometimes i just think "oh my, this game was so easy to be made perfect, why didnt they change this ...".

For example, the bow firing sound is wimpy. The fact that we have a normal "physical damage" bow and we still fire a magic arrow is kinda disapointing, especialy since it makes a "pee pee" sound, oh well, hoping it changes later with better weapons lol.

The bow sound is pretty "light" or "wimpy", I agree. Then again, it never gets annoying because you hardly notice it. It's pretty much the same as in DD I think.

I play on Xbox 360 and have experienced almost no stuttering. Also, empty containers state (Empty) when I glance over them. Perhaps you can tweak your PC settings to get the most out of it?

About the stuttering, there's no more tweaking i can make, i've tried everything from forcing V-sync on the CCC, up to testing various AA and AF modes, changing all in-game options, etc. From more searching on theses forums i think its a common thing on the PC version, most waiting on a patch to fix it.

The containers here also state when they are empty smile but the somewhat anoying tracking method of moving your character until he gets in a good position to target the next container is very lame and timeconsuming. I dont like to have to precision move my character in order to get to the next container. FOr example, when there's 5 containers next to each other, we have to move to target each one and if we get 4 empty ones, sometimes we keep targeting the one we already checked, its very anoying, i rather destroy them all!

Having to press 5 times the same button, hearing a wimpy sound of the bow, and 50% of the time the auto tracking doesnt work and the arrow goes straight forward, missing the large barrel?

That can be,
but there're enough slashing weapon (axe, sword, mace,...) for doing a strong strike/hit and after I go stronger in D 2, I smash 2 barrels in the same time :hihi: !

I have also undergo that if I shoot with the bow on enemies, I missed them when I set my view (camera) from my Dragon Slayer Hero not good ! But that's all the game... that's my opinion wink

I think the best thing to do (for me) is going for warrior, but also skill up ranger-specialties and combine both on a good way to victory!! But also a good "spell" or more, a thing I can't been missing ... hmmm.. love it!

Note:
A few things in Divinity II : Ego Draconis I found much better than in Divine Divinity (or BD) and other thing I found better in DD than in D 2!
Trading and combat I found better in D II, some skills I prefer by DD, but, I'm far from the end of D II, many things comes my way and many things I go to discover all the time smile !

So, yesterday I disscover new things about how I was first time played this game doing many things in combat very clumsy héhé .. (hilarious, isn't it? :p )
Then again, I discover do more jump and tumble when enemies attack me & I attack enemies ... for me not simply to learn fast héhé ... but "training": it was valuable!
This time I train in Farglow many times again with each of the 3 choosing races & learning how I can faster react on enemies doing tumble, jump, etc ... so much that I level up to Level 2 in Farglow! laugh

On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin,
it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !
