I hope this question is not already asked? ouch
But I have first tray to "search" on this forum, but find nothing... I can't apparently handle that search-engine of this forum smirk

My question comes, but first I must explaine something ... :

On another forum (xbox) somebody says:
"You can't go back to Brocken Valley after you have visited the Maxos Temple!"

Note: the person who says this to me have already finalise D II.

disagree .. Is this realy truth???? I can't believe it!!
All reviews speak about D II is a seamless /open(?) world...

Or am I wrong and is this all a misunderstanding?

Now, Suppose :
I have done Maxos Temple ... go further to another region in the game .... and Ooo, I forgot (many) Quests to do in Brocken Valley (Village) ...
How about the waypointscrines? And how about flying like a drago... flying back to Brocken Valley possible? ....

Who can me help out and explain me something? smile

As soon as you step on Sentinel Island all this quests are lost. You had an option to open a traveling shrine in the temple and finish all quests in the valley, but now it full of poisonous fog and lvl 27 dragons.

Ooo, ok, it's because a problem of the main storyline .. now I understand why ... wink
But reviews spoken about D II is "seamless" ... I obviously didn't understand this matter right! smirk

Many thanks and now, I'm good prepared when it is the time I 'm there wink

Another question then:
Is the system the same as in DD: how higher my Level how less experience for hack'n Slash, but more for doing Quests?

When this is NOT so like in DD, I can equally well do first concentrate on my Quests. Yes! That should very good news smile !
Then again, I'm very happy :hihi:

A bit different now - each quest has it's own "EXP measure". For example, first quest for Locke (the merchant). You can finish it right from the beginning and get xxx points of exp, or, you can kill everyone in the Valley, then finish the quest and you will get xxx+xxx EXP points, but not over 1k.

You will be prompted by Talana (you wish), that you might want to complete other quests in past areas that you have went before. Because Damian will strike with a poison all over the valley. And to the Island. You however my friend, will be a dragon by then and will fly over the area without getting effected by the gas. However, noone will survive this encounter in the pretty village. How does it matter when you complete a quest, you can't hand it over? Like that, quests will be closed for you if you don't complete them before entering the shrine. Game map itself is small if you compare to GTA maps, or the great map ov Oblivion. But it kept me busy for one day, each region at first playthrough. I hope this gives advice on how open this map is. Worse than oblivion, and far more better than other rpgs where you click the location and just "go". And I'm not "comparing" any of those games i've mentioned so don't come saying they aint comparable.

I haven't played the first game but what i'm thinking about the second game, about experience is: there is no respawn. Therefore, you should (not must) kill every creature you can find in whole map, do every side quests possible to be able to survive in the last encounter. There is also a skill which gives you some more exp every time you gain exp. But it doesn't really matter at the end of the line. So partially your smashing everything that the game is throwing at you.

Have fun.

Lost interest. Went to mines lvl 34. All mobs there are 28, Baal 30. 3 hits and Baal dead.
DaO has much better system. Lvl of mobs in the area depend on party lvl, locked on first arrival.

Yeah I was pretty disappointed with the amount of "lost forevers" in the game. Hopefully Larian will integrate a higher degree of freedom in whatever brilliance they come up with next. Also, a little off topic, if I'm a flying dragon, I expect I should be able to fly over a mountain range instead of hitting an invisible barrier. That alone seriously took away from my enjoyment of the game, though it's still a blast.

I think devs actually expect players to miss a lot quests and as a consequences rewards. It is only reason why final bosses set at lvls 30-32. I actually could get my character to 35 needed about 10% of the bar more.
I did miss few large quests. Newer collected all zeppelin parts, newer turn in Barnabu mace and as a result didn’t complete hinting quest, probably missed whole other bunch and don’t even know about it. Not sure what is lvl cap in this game but I think lvl 37 -38 can be reached easily.
Any way even at 34 completed hall of Echoes in 20-30 min. Died twice, once in dragon form and second time in the final battle because didn’t expect them to do any real dmg to my char. Returned with my pets and took out mage in one hit. Rest of them died very easy.
Something really wrong with final battles lately
Still remember 5 hours I spend trying to figure out last battle in Icewind dale2. It was epic. Each spell was important.

things which bother me. Archeologist, his sister paleontologist and brother Arthur all thought about family jewels hidden somewhere in Fjords. Did anyone figured where this house is.
I found a door near the ship with Raj and Khan, it look like regular cave entrance but was crossed with some boards like abandon house. Could not get in. What is this place?

Thanks for all information!

May I ask following:
I'm in Maxos Temple (MT) and have seen a waypoint scrine in a big room there, but I go futher in MT with solving puzzles and fight enemies ...
But this waypoint scrine is NOT at the end of MT ... so in that case I can go back without poisonous gaz in Brocken Valley I hope???
But if all in Brocken Valley is poisonous since I set foot on MT ... in that case ...
...lucky I'm that I have a savegame right before enter MT!!

I have well done many quests, but there where also many things to do!

I'm also confused about the voice (Talana) in my head : must I follow hear advice or can I ignore her advice and do what I will do? wink

I'm Level 13 now with taht savegame IN Maxos Temple ... very low I think for going already futher and leave Brocken Valley behind me!

No problem, the poison thing goes when you have conquered the Battle Tower. You can get back to the Broken Valley from the Sentinel Island via teleporters. Anyway, I think there is a teleporter in Maxos Temple...

About the voice, she has good advice most time. Besides when she gets impatient and tell you to go on wink do as much side quests as you can.

I'm a little confused, therefor this question:

I'm now IN Maxos Temple, but I past the waypointscrine now and I'm not sure if I can back again to that scrine at the end of Maxos Temple savety, without poisonous gaz??
I'm a little "stuck" somewhere in Maxos Temple think ... I'm on: 4 rooms I can go round and round, but search for a sollution how to open a door ... but every time I step in one of the rooms again, those fou enemies will kill me, but my health-potions are almost used up!!

I think I must go for my other save game ... what the hell is going on in this Temple??? grin

By now, thanks a lot!

Thanks scalla wink
Another problem a have! (I think)

Can I have the Battle Tower (and so on my Battle Chest!!) sooner that the point in the game "Brocken Valley is poisonous"??
I hope so, because this:
I know in the Battle Tower finally in can put things from my Inventory in a Battle Chest!! But if I have finally that Battle Chest ... and I can't back to Brocken Valley because of the poisonous gaz ... that's very sadly!! frown
Because I was planning to do: go back after put many things of my inventory in Battle Chest and than go for more loot in Brocken Valley grin ... is this possible???

You're in the labyrinth?
Check your map, you'll find two fake walls. That should help.

I'm affraid Xardas was wrong; the Broken Valley gets poisoned as soon as you kill Laiken. So, don't worry wink

EDIT: Didn't see your last message. Nop, you can't get back the Broken Valley after putting stuff in your chest. Sorry.

Many thanks scalla! smile

This is quite clearly now! And I can imagine Talana warning me before I don't go back savety to Brocken Valley I suppose?

Edit too wink :
But I have still this question wink ... :
Because I was planning to do: go back after put many things of my inventory in Battle Chest and than go for more loot in Brocken Valley ... is this possible???

That's very sadly! but now, I'm already warning smile .
Now I can figure out how my strategy must going on, because there 's many loot in Brocken Valley .. and I will not put more than 1 point in the skill "Packed and Ready" ... I need my skills for better things.

How do you this if you accumulate many loot ... ?
What can I do with so many "Ore", "Gem", "Herb" What are all that "Formula" good for? ... some of them are nice for potions, enchantments, but not all ?
