Searched the net but couldn't find any information regarding the sales numbers. The game being out in Europe and about to be released in USA, did Larian take back the money they have invested?
It would be a great shame, if this fabolous game doesn't make any profit for them.

Maybe, maybe not. Promotion wasn't exactly good, the distributors/publishers are to blame for that, from what I've seen especially in the UK. Many had never heard of the game on some of the forums I go on or didn't know it was coming out. Although CDV seem to be doing a good job by taking the game to conventions, letting the media try it out etc... I really do hope Larian make enough money off the game to continue making games.

It's hard for smaller devs and publishers to make a crack, especially in the US. These games seem to be far more appreciated in England, Germany, etc. Damn my fellow US peeps! Buy these awesome RPG's!
My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

I Hope Larian Studios receive the respect they deserve with Divinity II : Ego Draconis, in my eyes a good beautiful RPG with deep quests, I love that! Today I'm addicted to D II and play sometimes for 8 ŕ 10 hours together héhé ... totally I played approximately 40 hours ... and only Level 13 Dragon Slayer! What a fun I have still hours and hours in future to find out more opportunities to play on a different way with the skills and/or different quest-solutions!! O yeahh ... little funny, try it some day ;), is next: go to the world in D II and on a savety place and make all your equipment "empty"! (without enemies - or NPC - who can see you ! Suppose they slashed you immediately or laughed with you?)... Then your Dragon Slayer stands in his/her .... ... panties ... Thanks Larian, I found that very funny
On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin, it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

Then again the The UK Distributor didn't send out a lot of copies. I've read on various forums people can't get ahold of the game in local shops.

I sure hope the game is popular because it deserves it.
I am currently quite pissed about XGN's horribly unfair review!

I am currently quite pissed about XGN's horribly unfair review! Never heard of that site but I read the review. I really don't know what was on that guys mind... Most of his arguments aren't even valid, I'm very pissed off. Certainly cos I see the comments: 'Thanks, I nearly bought this game.' And 'Phew, thanks for informing me.' Something like that, because of that unfair review people are passing on the game, which is a shame :s Like when he's (or she) saying you always run around with balded fists? WTF? From what I remember you always run around with flapping your hands sideways. And bad port? What the hell? It's a great port, way less stuttering as well... OMG, I just really don't get why he/she gave it such a bad score??

It's very sadly that review ... I see it yesterday too ... I find it a very bad review, totally beside the point what Divinity II realy IS ! Ok, not a game all people wish to play, but that's with all games the same thing. For example: I don't have the sense to buy Dragon Age or Risen or ... simply because these games can't give me the feeling: this game I wish to play!! Regarding the cover and video, screenshots about Divinity II : I know by myself immediately I wish to play the game for sure!! Yesterday I was in a gameshop watching to many other games, but none of them interessed me to buy it ... like I had that feeling with Divinity II

I did, I got both Risen and DAO. This game is better as Risen. Risen is tame. it is not better as DAO, but that is a party based game played on a straight line from a to b.
Every game has its points. This game has weaknesses, it is just how to live with it.
The main question is is this game going to make money. Well yes, it most likely will, but enough to go past the break even point is tricky. One mind always wanders to the oiracy that wull take a cut from sales one way or an other.
It is silly. 3 RPG's and an expansion within months after a draught.
