Hi all,

I posted yesterday about help on building a mage, I followed Ravens guide which is fantastic. Well I just killed the ghost in the cellar at level 5, I couldn't stand in one spot to fight it so I had to run around the tomb room in order to kill the ghost (so speak he doesn't die you get his health down) after I done this main quest I then went into the 'new land' where I then meet the lady when I first become a dagon, then you meet the wiard and then you proceed.

I ran into the troll lvl 11 half of his health was gone managed to kill him (all the guards died) and recieved 150exp by this time I'm level 6 and I started to kill some of the skeletons that are 7/8 again I have to run away to use spells I got to level 7 and tried to venture more but I ended up running into a bunch of level 7s and even level 9s.

I could kill these but I'm using to many health pots and a few manas my money isn't high and yes I have done all the side quests in broken valley (some I can't do as I need to go further down this new area)

Any advice am I missing something?

Are you asking what I mean by hit and run or are you telling me to hit and run?

I do hit and run (when you attack monster with spell and walk backwards keep doing it in like a circle) as I was saying though I can't keep doing this as the mages and archers seem to hit me a lot of damage and Im using loads of health potions and don't have alot of money.

When you see a mob, sneak up on them slowly and draw them out one at a time! Once one sees you, slowly walk backward and draw him toward you, strafe left or right to dodge the ranged or magic attacks. Once you lead this one far away enough from the fray, kill him, then rest and let your health regenerate itself back to full.

Then repeat again and again and again...................until the mob/area is cleared.

This helps when the baddies are 2 or 3 levels higher than you(as in your case).

Play this game slowly, and you'll really enjoy it!

If you insist on playing pure mage game will not be easy.
I use summon zombie and at lvl 6-7 you can add second creature and create personal little army. Sometimes I just stand aside and let them kill mobs.

For thread starter situation, I dont think he able to summon the necromancer creature yet unless he learn summon skill in priest skill tab. I also dont think he had yet reach the enchantment platform, so the best trick here is like what Conan said, lure them out and kill 1 by 1. Even playing as a warrior also you had to do it by this way, especially when the mobs are higher level than you

Well I managed to find Lord Lovis, I got to the gate and I had to jump onto something from the left side... Today I've been trying to progress even more as I need to go to the Maxos Templ but just beore you get up the one route theres mayb 6 guys all close together level 11 I'm now 8 and there hitting 14+ on me.

Tried to lure them one by one but once you get one of them you end up getting two of others as they are too close together.

I thoguht Id venture down towards 'Orobas Fjords' and try to gain some exp in order to level.

Go back to the village, enter every house, read some minds, open all chests and you'll find a lot of extra quests. Wander around the rest of Broken Valley and you'll find a lot more of sub-quests. You can easily make it to lvl. 15 by doing all the sub-quests in Broken Valley.

I believe I have done quests that can be don as I've been following a guide on the side quests, although I have some quests that are beyond the first section they are still pretty hard to do as they are all the way down the other end.

I managed to get to the temple at last using charm, although I didn't kill any of the guys surrounding the place.

What you are doing isn't very smart. You should try to defeat every enemy you can find, otherwise you will not earn experience and never become strong!

If you have done all the quests you could do, it is IMPOSSIBLE for you not to have any money to at least buy potions. Sell all the things you don't need; books, weak weapons and armor, charms you will not use, ingredients you won't use.

As said before, pick off enemies one by one. Lure them away and then kill them, one by one. This might cost you some time, but it will work. If the game is still too hard, you can always set the game to easy difficulity. It doesn't effect any achievements you could earn.

As long as your level is the same or over the level of your enemies, combat is easy no matter what class you play.

Just garner enough experience by exploring the entire map.

First time I was going to Maxos Temple, I was L11/12, but I came back and find more enemies in Brocken Valley and solve quests ...

Another thing I will say:
I play with a combination of 3 things:
1) a bow and rangerskill "Stealth" (most enemies I can see with Stealth before they see me grin )
2) most of the time I go first (when I have an enemy in focus) for Magic Missile spell + passive Skill "Confusion" (that confused the enemie when I attack it with a spell!) and then on I change between this spell and shoot with my bow ...
3) if some enemies surrounds me to close, I do "Wirlwind" with a good one or two-handed melee weapon and at the meanwhile I repeat Magic Missile so it is necessary!
4) When than enemies are to hard, I run away or jump or roll left or right away from the enemies and make my a new possition in battle...
Sometimes it is funny to go hide me behind a tree, rock or something and Magic Missile can do so good things in that case grin

Thought I'd inform people of my progression;

As i've been doing literally all side quests I can find know where as I posted this thread I didn't explore broken valley and missed the bandit camp and all down there.

I managed to do the Maxos temple around 14 since then I have been talking to everyone and mindreading who I need to mindread. I got to Sentinel Island after getting to level 16 and I managed to jump to about 19 (including getting my battle tower).

Know I'm in the Orobas Fjords and just hit level 20/21, looking forward to completing my first playthrough.

Yeah.. very good of you! smile

You see,
this game "DON'T hold your hand" and "do not escort" players through the game ...

Help yourself and discover so much by yourself, that's make this game GREAT !!

It's feel like you are the greatest hero of Rivellon, very proud you're do all things on your own way to the end !! grin

Yeah .. Orobas Fjords are beautiful with all water and narrow mountain paths smile ... discover other places with enemies per swimming in big "sea" (water) :hihi: ...
Sentinel Islands I also find very nice! wink
And in this case I mean "nature, skyline, views .." .. also high up the Lovis Tower, beautiful skyline !! and I almost got "acrophobia" on that high tower ! eek
:hihi:
