Hi all,

I have started a second playthrough now. I have arrived at the Orabas Fjords and have entered the Fort / Harbour. Inside the harbour, there is a gate. A guard tells me only Champions can enter the proper fort. Is there any way for me to enter? I dind't find one on my first playthrough, and I still can't find one now.
All I have is a letter bearing the champions seal, with which I hoped to enter. Doesn't seem to work!

I searched the forums on 'fort', but that didn't come up with anything. Sorry if this question has already been answered somewhere. smile

Couldn't find anything about it in the page about sub-quests, perhaps it's a quest that doesn't appear in the quest log (like with the 3 sleeping people or the guy soul forged with a chicken in Broken Valley).

No, it's impossible. There is no such location in game resources.

Probably it is something for the future addon or unfinished by some reason.

Connan this walkthrough is bad. even basic things wrong..
“The bow is useful only in the early part of the game, think twice before investing points in archery skills”
Lol.
I am lvl 20 now and have much easier time with bow then first time around with melee char.
I didn’t read walkthrough in full but even in Broken valley few quests and mindreads missed.
Do you remember the witch; she actually gives 4 predictions and third is not about becoming a dragon. It is about Bellengar sending you flying then she gives fourth and unlock achievement.

I'm level 19 now and I use frequently a bow + ranger skill "Stealth" I find very nice lol ... + I have now a bow that give me + 1 point in that skill, very handy!(and therefore 3 points in it!). I combine it with Magic Missile (now 3 points on it)... and use Wirlwind to kill them if they're almost dead grin I love passive skills hihi ... very handy to learn and no quickbutton necessary to use a passive skill smile .

Personally I find a bow very useful in D II, more than in DD, where I used very rarely a bow (or crossbow)!

Try explosive arrows
Yes, if correct passive and active skills combined characters becomes very powerful.

bows are totally brilliant and i don't think any other discipline offers u bonus like the 'Way of the Ranger' (200%+ damage with a bow!)

not sure if the rest of my logic adds up but... suppose u combine that with say 'Destruction' (i think) which gives bonus to magic attacks and get a really good bow that has a strong magic damage rating!

hit them with a Magic blast.. then pepper them with arrows... and if they still manage to get close (which rarely happans).. toast their asses with firewall! laugh

Thanks for the insight into the fact the guide is not all that accurate.

While it has helped me a great deal in finding some quest solutions, as I progress my character I think the character build advice is not all that good.
I too followed the advice about not making a bow based character and I now regret it.

When I finish this game I am going to replay and this time make a ranger character. I think it will be a lot more fun than a melee based one.

One thing that I never liked with a "bow" character is jars/barrel/box busting, nothing beats a good old whirlwind!

O, certainly with a ranger (bow) character that I used (but also Mage-skills!), I love it to busting barrels/boxes etc with whirlwind grin , with a sword or other melee weapon wink
It's also sometimes a good thing to use a bow to shoot on barrels/boxes they stand high above you and when you "see" some loot is in it, you jump on a box and pick it up before destroy all boxes!

I combine Ranger, Mage and Warrior: I use also melee weapons (warrior), but take Mage skills and some Ranger skills...
But another game round I probably play it not the same!

It all boil down to one play style. Some like charging into the crowd and enjoy tearing down your opponent 1 by 1, where some enjoy sneaking and range power.

I myself prefer the warrior style, but only thing I like to complain on warrior path is that its quite lack of active skill as compare the others, as well as aoe skills. More active skill for warrior would be better I guess.

i have a mixed class... Ranger / Mage / Warrior!
i shoot 'em up and when they get close, Firewall and Whirlwind! WHAM, BAM, THANK YOU MA'AM!

oh and to add to my 'bows are totally brilliant' point, the Ultimate Good Bow i got from Bellagar, had 2 charm slots + 3 enchantment slots! sweet!

a word of caution though.. the Way of the Ranger has some devastating drawbacks too, so i usually don't try it on bosses i can't get away from. it renders you Melee-impotent. so if u do try it, remember to turn it off before you get up, close and personal.

Remember the guy by the fenced in area who is a merchant? Inside that fenced area is a sack of grain with the end of the key sticking up! groovy

Inside the harbor building in the back on right hand side, in the fenced in area, sticking out of grain pile is the key.
There is also a hidden money sack if you mindread someone in the building. Forget who though.
