that's great guys - really appreciate the tips.. I am on my way to the fjord to level up and also looked at my gear - which does need a bit of work.. I am a mage, but probably not specced the greatest

Also - only just learned (on the way to the fjord) how to put charms in gear - yeah I know....nooooob!
I the time I began play DD, I was also a great nooooob Kiaana!! And in D II all over again I must learn all possibilities in D II and there're many!
A "good" combination of skills, charms, enchantments, stats enz can break or make your hero(es) in battle !

I personally prefer a mixture of rases and in the Orobas Fjords (when I first came there) I was Level 13, but with a good bow, the passive rangerskill "Stealth"(1 or 2 points I think) and the mageskill Magic Missile (2 or 3 points I think)
+
the passive mageskill that do "stun" the enemies when you magic spell(s) attacks them
(I have in this skill 1 point- sorry, on this moment I can't find the name of that skill in my memory, but I think it's name is: Destruction) This skill that stun the enemies + give in the same time damage(!), give you the time to change between magic attack and bow ...
And futhermore: that "stun" is great because many enemies are also Mages or Summoners! Stun them and they can't summon or attack you (or less). And you can also jump fast to evade the attacks done to you (or roll to left or right).
There is also a passiv skill "Evade" if that interessed you ... give it a try
