I'm level 18 and at the point where I have to fight the demon/Laiken... so far... he is kicking me black and blue - is there a spell or item I need to make this easier? Or is there somewhere I haven't discovered where I can go and get another level or so? (Only have one quest on the island I can find that I haven't done at this stage, but that wont get me to 19.)

Beginning to think I may either have to a) restart the game and re-roll a warrior or b) just give up and not bother.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Have you go to Orobas Fjords? There are enemies from L 18 and more (L21, 23).
And on Sentinel Islands are surtainly more than 1 quest !! Speak and mindread some NPC's! and explore whole Island ! wink

I think I have at least 8 quests on Sentinel Islands !

It depends on what type of character you are and what skills/stats you have. If you're a pure warrior, this might be a bit hard. Ask Sassas to focus on healing you and aim your attacks at either on Razakel or Laiken. If one dies, they both die.
Using intelligence and strength potions here is advised on your level. If you still can't beat it, return to Broken Valley and Sentintel Island (if you still have a save game there) and do more quests. You should be able to make it to lvl. 20 and then fight him.

If you're a mage or have any skill points yet to distribute (skill book?), use Firewall. It's very powerful.

After completing all broken valley and sentinel island quest, you should able to reach lvl20, that the level when I face Laiken. But I did try to fight him before at lvl17 or 18, and its not actually hard at all, with Sassan focus healing me. So I guess you need to work out on your equipments and skills. And beside that I found that killing Laiken only will give you exp of 1 kill, where as killing the demon, Razakel, you get the exp of 2 kills, at lvl20, I get 1286exp times 2.

I the time I began play DD, I was also a great nooooob Kiaana!! And in D II all over again I must learn all possibilities in D II and there're many!

A "good" combination of skills, charms, enchantments, stats enz can break or make your hero(es) in battle ! smile

I personally prefer a mixture of rases and in the Orobas Fjords (when I first came there) I was Level 13, but with a good bow, the passive rangerskill "Stealth"(1 or 2 points I think) and the mageskill Magic Missile (2 or 3 points I think)
+ the passive mageskill that do "stun" the enemies when you magic spell(s) attacks them
(I have in this skill 1 point- sorry, on this moment I can't find the name of that skill in my memory, but I think it's name is: Destruction)

This skill that stun the enemies + give in the same time damage(!), give you the time to change between magic attack and bow ...

And futhermore: that "stun" is great because many enemies are also Mages or Summoners! Stun them and they can't summon or attack you (or less). And you can also jump fast to evade the attacks done to you (or roll to left or right).

There is also a passiv skill "Evade" if that interessed you ... give it a try wink

lol... it's not the flying that's got my talons in a twist.. it's those damn fly-by's. enemy birds they keep vanishing overhead and by the time i turn around (which is pretty quick damn it.. they're gone!)

and really come on... what's with the whole NO-DRAGON-ZONES?!! and even if u do build one of those.. why would u put teleports outside just so any moron can get in and take out u'r generator??

does it remind anyone else of Obi-Wan Kenobi taking out the tractor beam?
