Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Technical problems Problem with patches

I have English version of game. I bought it in version 1.01367. My game doesn't work too well. So, I looked at official website of Divinity 2 and there aren't any further patches to disposition for download in English. So, I searched at internet further and found patches 1.02 a 1.03 but when I wanted to download them I always ended in some several websites which wanted not only my registration but even my paying for any downloads. So, I am asking myself with angry why should I pay another money for patches which should be publicly downloadable? Then I contacted distributor of Divinity 2 in our country and asked him about that issue but he answered me these patches aren't any offical ones. So now I am very confused and disgusted about all the situation with these English patches for Divinity 2. So, can you anybody explain me whether these patches 1.02 a 1.03 are regular patches for Divinity 2, why they aren't downloadable at official Divinity 2 website, why I can't donwload them free anywhere and whether I could download them somewhere without any payment? Please, answer me anyone I am going mad about this situation and I never experienced something so disgusting about any game which I played so far yet.

There is 15th viewing already here and nobody is able to answer me anyhow? I am really sad.

The English version isn't released yet. Sounds like you bought a pirated version of the game. Who did you get it from? And patches are free. Sounds like you got ripped off again.

English release is Jan 5th 2010

The English version is out and is available in the UK.
The US English version comes out next month.

The Australian English version has also been released (Nov 11th; UK release was Nov 20th).

As for the patch, all language versions / localizations should get a patch to bring them up to par with the North American release soon. No exact timeframe has been given, but presumably Larian would want to get it out before or about Jan 5th.

What was found claiming to be patches were likely either scams or no-DVD cracks, etc.

LightningLockey, you have wrong information. I have original UK version of game which is sold in our country for several days already.

That is a rapidshare search site. It shows files people posted on rapidshare, we don't need to KNOW what is that shi't they posted there.

You need to look on LEGAL sites to find OFFICIAL patchs.

The game's official website is a good start to look for a patch!

And of course, they want you to pay for their ILLEGAL things, thats the way PIRATES and HACKERS and SPAMMERS and other internet based criminals earn money.

Anyway Rapisdshare isn't any illegal pirate website.

So, what version of game are you playing for now? Is it still 1.01367? Aren't in this version any substantial bugs?

Rapidshare isn't an illegal eb site, but a lot of the content it hosts is shall we say, "dubious". At any rate, I hope you didn't download those fake patches becasue you can bet they're full of viruses.

So to reiterate what's been said, yes, the English version is out in some countries, no, there is no offical patch yet and when there is you won't have to pay for it.

Just by the look of the name, those are probably the german official patches, plus the english "hack" to make the german version of the game have english text.

This was a very common "hack" before the UK english version was released for a lot of people who wanted to play earlier but couldnt speak german.


ABout your english UK version, is indeed patch version wich has some improvements over the german 1.03 patch, but doesnt have most of the most recent patches.

Larian has officialy stated that very soon (most people in the forums are expecting in early january bit its just a guess) a patch will come out to ALL versions, making it share the same game version.
