Crafting. Well, you can enchant weapons, armor and jewelry. Enchantments can be removed. You can also Charm equipment. Charms can't be removed.

Crafting as in: Gather materials and make a weapon from scratch, no.
Crafting as in: Customizing found weaponry by using materials, then yes wink

There is crafting, but it is "light" as in you usually find stuff along the way.

You will gather items such as
Herbs to make potions. (always buy ginseng from shops!)
Minerals to enchant armor and weapons.
Body parts for your .... pet

You don't craft leather armor or weapons yourself. Instead it is more of taking weapons and armor that have slots for charms/enchantments to an npc to craft. The only thing you really manipulate is your pet to mix and match things.

You'll also get gatherers in your battle tower that will try and find stuff for you. You can purchase equipment and weapons for them as well. This portion of the game is kept simple and quick as Larian didn't want this to slow down the questing, adventure and hack and slash pace of the game.

Divine Divinity had a skill to level enchanting, that is no longer used. To level these skills you'll need to talk to an npc with scrolls you'll find along the way and they will take them off you. If your unsure to junk a scroll, just talk to the npc that would use it (like a heal scroll to a herbologist) and if they don't automatically take it off you when you talk to them about making potions, sell it to a shop.

It is similar than it sounds in this thread.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them.
