I just picked up the English version (in Australia) yesterday and had the following problem:

I could start, and play the game, and even save. Automatic, Quick and Normal saves all worked for the first few times, but after a few saves *EVERY* save starts failing as corrupt

The corrupt files usually started happening before I even left the first tutorial area, but once I made it to the first zone and started getting corrupt saves as I arrived

Checking the save files in AppData, instead of being ~1.5 meg, they were only a few K.

I was JUST about to post a plea for help here, when I saw a post about running as admin and a comparability mode (to fix crashes and some issues with persisting game settings, not the same issue) which I tried. Since then the saves have worked perfectly (and now are almost instant, where as before even when it was successful would take 2+ minutes to save)

Cut from these forums:

You set the compatibility modes "Run as Administrator" and "Disable Desktop Composition" and hopefully that will help.

Instructions
Right-click on the Divinity II: Ego Draconis icon on your desktop
Click on Properties in the menu that pops up
In the Window that comes up click on the Compatibility tab at the top of the Window
On the Compatibility tab click the box next to "Disable Desktop Composition"
(For Vista and Windows 7 users) Also click on the box next to "Run as Administrator"
After that click on the Apply button at the bottom and you are done.

May help someone!

Thanks for posting this; hopefully it will help if anyone else runs into this problem.

Thank you for the welcome....

Unfortunately the Corrupt save is back for me. The game worked fine for a long time, I made it to level 7, but I just loaded up and tried to play today and the first few saves worked but every subsequent save is corrupted again

Tried multiple reboots, but the same thing every time, first 1 or 2 saves work, then all subsequent saves take AGES and report they are corrupted

Bit of a loss now smirk The game otherwise works flawlessly

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?

If you start the game and try making multiple saves in a row, does that work better or worse than saves every so often as you are playing? If you can save 4 or 5 times when you first start the game, but only 1 or 2 periodically as you are playing, there may be some kind of memory leak, or something.

Do you have lots of free space on your c: drive?

Not sure what else could cause this...

C: Drive has 400+ GB available on it

I rebooted multiple times and always closed everything (including AV) before starting

After a while I gave up and just played a bit (Recklessly, not worrying since I couldn't save)

Then, about a half hour of playing I accidentally hit the Quick Save button and it worked! Been able to save fine now since them

[Sequence. Started playing, quick saved, normal saved, quick saved... then all saves became corrupt as they saved, tried for about 15 minutes, saves always failed... after a half hour of playing without saving, I could suddenly quick/normal save as often as I want and load as often as I want...]

No idea smile Working for now at least! It's a pretty fun game too!

Edit: Oh and it is a fairly recent install of Vista too. 2 months old, pretty clean, very little running on it. Maybe something to do with the HDD? However I have no issues with anything else, got steam installed and 3 or 4 steam games work fine

Hehe. I seem to be having bad luck

I can save/reload mostly now, but trying to
wake the three sleepers
I managed to do one, but the other two, if I talk to them sometimes I can talk and give them the items they need, but even if that works, after I finish the conversation the camera locks, allowing me to look up/down only, not left/right and the rest of the GUI is unresponsive and I can't move

EDIT: Apparently this is a "known bug" - I saw no messages on these forums but found on others. The workaround is when you get to them QUICKSAVE and if they bug, restart the game and try again. Worked the third time for me
