Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis Process not ending after black screen

I'm using the UK retail version of Divinity 2 & occasionally it'll hang at a black screen after the Larian/dtp splash screens. I can kill the application with Task Manager, but not the process so I then have to restart my PC in order to play Divinity 2. It started doing this a few days ago after I started the game up & then switched to a browser while I was waiting for the game to start. Does anyone have any ideas as to what's happening & what can be done to fix it?

Very impressed with the voice over localisation BTW, not generic American English but real English English regional accents (Northern, Brummie, Home Counties, etc)!

Had a similar issue, but only when I tried to exit the game. The process stayed until reboot, eating RAM and CPU time for no apparent reason.
In my case deleting and rebuilding the config files in the %userdir% solved it, perhaps worth a try?

Agreed on the different dialects in the game, sounds so much more lively than the, imo, "flat" american ones. No offense to 'em yanks, heh.
