Hello!

Sorry if this has already been posted, I just bought the downloadable version of this game from Gamestop, loading screens went fine and dandy until I entered the game and tried to change resolutions - I got this message:

Runtime error
Program:c¨/etcetc
R6025
-pure virtual function call

Now I only get to load the presentation and bam, error message again frown
I've tried to find a solution (latest drivers, etcetc), but nothing so far.

Is there a working solution available? - it really pisses me off that I shelved a good $50 just to start having headaches -

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Completely random crash, no explanation for that.
You can try to reinstall Install Visual C++ SP1, but I barely doubt it will help.

Also, can happen if game resources damaged or incomplete.

If you uninstall the game, reboot, make sure there are no files remaining in the game folder, or configuration files in the settings folder, and reinstall the game, you should at least get back to being able to play at the default resolution.

In XP the saves are in the folder below; you can take out the entire Divinity 2 folder if you don't have any saves to keep (the install program should ask if you want to keep your settings and saved games, but it is better to double check that everything was removed if you are having a problem).

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

or in Vista / Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders.

I have got the same problem here. After loading the third logo screen it crashes with the exact same error.

I'm running the game from Steam, Vista64 with Nvidia.

Same here. I already tried the suggestions, with the same result.

Is there gonna be a patch to work this thing out? 7 gigs of hard drive space and $50 bucks flushed down the toilet aren't my idea of a good time.... sad

Just a quick note. I found this information

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;243579

Which is not the game, but it does note the culprit is Norton.

Do you have Norton AV installed?

Good luck

Same problem here, program crashes to desktop at 3rd loading screen. The same thing happened with the demo version. I stupidly bought the game anyway thinking it was a problem with the demo.

My system:
Intel Core Duo E8400 3 GHz
2G RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS
Running Windows XP SP3 2002

Directx, physx, drivers and Visual C all updated per the first aid instructions. Removed and reinstalled many times, with and without antivirus SW.

After perusing the message boards, this is a common problem and I wonder if it's related to a specific HW configuration? Anybody with something else than an Nvidia card having this problem (for example)?

I haven't had this kind of problem with any other game...just finished Dragon Age at high resolution and it ran great. At this point I won't buy any more games from these guys...what a rip off.

I got the same problem. It happens when I get a loading screen at a round ruin with a quest-marker "Rhode"
Here is a screenshot of the ruin I mean:
http://i49.tinypic.com/9hlxj8.jpg

My system:
Intel Core Duo E8400 3 GHz
4G RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4870
Running Windows Vista SP1
All drivers updated to latest version

I have already tried re-installing the game completely and starting a new game, and running the game in extremely low quality, but it doesn't help. Is there a way to solve this?

On the page about the error ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/125749/en-us ) it is written that the error is happening because of a bug in the code.

Does the patch solve anything at all?....if that doesn't work, I'm not buying another thing from these thieves again...
