Hey all.
As I read thru this forum I realize one thing for sure...I have no clue what most of the posts are talking about. The detail you folks get into is incredable. I guess there is a lot of abbreviation and such and an assumption that evryone here is an RPG veteran. I am not.
Ive read where folks have got to certain places this way and that, level this or that, weapon this or that..etc ..etc.
Im having a helluva time getting through stuff. I have just made it to the point where I had dragon dream and Im now heading to Lovis Tower I believe. I am at level 7, have a two handed sword and am playing as a warrior I believe. I have read through the game guide at gamepressure, hell, I even downloaded it to check back in from time to time.
Heres my request. Can you more experienced guys give me a basic formula to follow
I am playing as a sword guy. I am at level 7. I have a few spells, not many, not sure which ones are best. I wrote down from game guide the ones they recomend to get. If I can get an idea of which spells to get and how to best distribute the points I get for strength, vitality etc. it would be helpful. I know Ive read you can go so many different ways, that great.
Understand for sure that you are not talking with a guy who knows much about these kinds of games. Heck I just read a post that said if there was a chest that lock pick couldnt open it means there is a switch, key or something else located in same room or area that will open it. I have left tons of chests unopened because I figured they must be for a later part of the game. Ive probably missed some cool stuff. I have a bow but have not used it. Dont know how. Tried to change weapons the other day and the button that usually swings sword became empty, couldnt get the sword to swing even though it was in my hand. Had to start back over at a lower level save to get sword back working again. Now do you see the trouble Im having.
This seems like a great game but I figure if Im getting so frustrated at this very beginning point I dont stand a chance of making it till the end. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Let get over with your weapon switching problem. When you open your toon equipment menu, you should able to locate 3 column at the bottom of your toon equipment menu, where you can actually equip 3 different weapons on your toon. In order to switch among weapons, you just need to press f1, f2 or f3, depends what weapon you equip in those columns mentioned above. If you on 360, sorry I had no idea what the key settings on it
If you intend to play as warrior, I think you should focus more on skill which provide your warrior more raw damage, such as weapon mastery to gain more base damage. From my experience with warrior, I dont actually use much magic spell. I only learn a few spell in the mid of the game to help on certain situation only, and unlearn them all before I went into the last stage of the game. Spell which usually pick by majority will be like healing, firewall and summons. But if you want your warrior to deal more damage with your weapon and close combat, you should just focus more on warrior path skill, especially those passive skill.
And if you havent know, you can actually get a necromantic pet of your own, which you can construct and strengthen it by limbs and corpses parts which you looted or buy. The pet will stay with you once you summon it and only will be gone once its hp fully depleted. You can re-summon it again after the skill cooled down. And you can customize it to be either melee, range or magic pet. You can have your pet once you are done with a quest name call vigor mortis.
Regarding stats point distribution, I would suggest not to invest too much on vitality and spirit, as when you proceed on with the game, you will find various of trinkets which able to provide you with high hp and mp boost, range from 100+ to 200+. 1 point into vitality or spirit only add 7 hp or mp. My level 10 ranger only has 2 vitality and 1 spirit. So only add them if you feel like hp or mp being too low. As for the rest of the stats, in such an early stage, you can distribute according to gear requirement. And as warrior, usually you will has higher str in early stages over dex and int. As you progress more, you be able to find good gears which come with various stats on them, as well as charms. Then you can start doing some planning on your stat points investment. Just remember each stats will max out at 100. So having more than 100 is just a waste.

im not rly agree acss imho best warrior is str int mix u can make alot more damage with normal damage / magic damage weapon that with normal weapon becouse u canot put all skill points in str anyway ebcouse magic users will eat u , and magic/meale are 2 most common types of damage in game if u go int str u got enought resist on str/magic and u got alot of damage if u manage to find good magic/str sword litlle spoiler first best 2 h sword is lord arben sword ( u will be ablle to geet it back) second best sword is "the best 2 h normal sword" or something like that i dont rly know name in english but u can get it as award in wicked wizard cave if u follow path of good this cave is on next part of game . Also the firewall spell is must to for warrior if ur make every quest posible etc cuz u will out lvl enemys on fjords and is rly freeking borring to kill 30 freeking imps who got alot f hp- but make 0 damage to u without firewall
and no u dont need lockpick at all to get rly good items later on u will get nlimited amount of gold nd top tier items in shops so no real problem, but of course its help
most important : DONT TRY TO FOLLOW MAIN QUEST TO MUCH . lvl 7 is much to low to go to tower imho kill all mobs in broken valley make all side quests and if u find out there is no more quests or mobs go continue main quest . dont forgott to explore all dungeons etc :P peace

1st of all I never say warrior dont need int. What I say is in early stages, warrior will usually has higher str over dex and int. Stats will build according to gear you get later, but not in such early stage. A warrior can has a lesser base str if got a lot gears that come str. And in fact my warrior only has base str of less than 50 at level 35, but with gear I can reach 90+, as well as my int too at 90+, all just gear base, without the use of stats potion. In early stage, with just limited stats points, how high you think the stats can reach? Resistance value from armor will be more batter, that why I say scale it according to gear.
Lock pick or not I wont discuss much on this, as different people has different opinion on it. I am those which dislike seeing unopened chests, so I put points into it. An in fact, I still has extra skill points left, since all my needed skill for my ranger is consider max out for my level 10 ranger.
And as for skill selection, those like firewall is still far ahead for him for now, as he just level 7. Level 7 is not actually too low to go into lovis tower. In fact, I clear the entrance skeletons with my level 7 ranger. Its all depends on how you imply your tactics when facing stronger mobs. I barely doing any quest for now, as what I doing now is just clearing mobs in the entire broken valley only. There still a lot quests in early part of broken valley which I havent do yet, such as the jackson murder, delivering love letter and etc.
