I'm trying to upgrade my enchanter platform by completing "Delicate Affairs" which requires me to get Radcliff's gem from a chest on an island heading towards Rivertown(?).

Problem is, I can't beat these guys! In fact, I can't do anything against them because they're killing me within 1 second of the fight starting. I'm starting to think this is glitched because a simple google search brings up mentions of the quest, but no mentions at all about the difficulty that I'm facing.

After repeatedly trying to do anything against them I decided to take a look at the logbook stats and see what was going on. Keep in mind, these numbers are not complete because of the sheer number of attacks and the limitations of the log book. Here are some numbers...

them = level 26
me = level 27 - hp = 475, magic resistance 23.7%, indominable will 28%, drank a potion of advanced armor resistance to bring all armor ratings up to 16, also drinking a potion of greater healing before the fight starts to help stay alive.

Fight starts, they immediately attack. Consulting my log book (which they filled up w/in 1 second) Khan is hitting me 35 times doing 14 damage with each hit. Raj is hitting me 44 times doing 14 damage each hit. Together, within 1 second they're hitting me with 1106 points of damage!

There's no possible way to take dragon form because a- they block the skies preventing me from doing so and b- they're killing me before I can finish changing!

Am I doing something wrong? Is there something I'm missing here? Because at this point, this battle is impossible.

Ya I had same problem. I ended up selling the gem to them. I was able to finish the quest with the enchanter anyway. I think I was even able to do upgrade by paying some gold to Sasson. Did you try using Dragon Stone immediately? I condsider that but never tried.

Yeah tried morphing immediately but they block the sky which prevents me from doing it and even when I get to a clear area and can start to change they finish me off pretty quick...

I just tried what you said and sure enough I was able to finish the quest, but I was only able to upgrade one area of the workshop (weapons, armor or jewelery).

So now the question is if I do some how end up beating the goblins, will I be able to upgrade all three areas instead of just one? That would be preferable but this is so frustrating that I would just like to move on...

I mean did you try using Drgaon Stone to immediately teleport back to the dragon tower. I doubt the would work - it would be to easy I guess.

Success!

Just gave it a try and I was able to go back to the battle tower but Radcliff wouldn't acknowledge that I had the goblin stone, so I used the shrine in the throne room to go back to the Fjords, took dragon form and went back to see my new friends... they killed me again.

So I went back and fought them one a time and was finally able to get some revenge.

I was able to upgrade two parts of the workshop this way rather than just the one. So I guess in the end it is just a whole lot easier to negotiate with the goblins.

If I am not mistaken, giving the gem to goblins will get you better reward, which is malachite gems, rather than just upgrade on the platform that will save up a few material when enchanting. Other raw materials are easy to get with runners, but malachite gems can never be collect by runners.
