how do i get a creature or pet?

You have to finish the quest to help the Necromancer in a cave, so he can make you a creature, or wait until you get your tower and use the Necromancer there.

OR get the Summon spells.

in wat cave?

He's in Old Cave which is NW of the old chapel. You will get a quest after talking to him which you can't complete until you can access the second part of Broken Valley. You then will need to kill the creatures in New Miners Dig, which is SW of Lovis Tower, where you will find the crystal skull. Bring it to the necromancer and you can then build and summon the creature.
