That is one of the hardest spots I hit too. I had to do it several times, to get the hang of it. I don't know if 3 heal potions will be enough. I think there are two wyvern nests you have to take out. Do you have the Dragon heal? I had it but didn't realize until later.

To heal, the dragon uses Dragon Spirit skill... put points in that if you can.
I don't see what's so hard about that first dragon battle, anyway. Just fly around & use Dragon Breath on the ballistae and the fight is over in 2 minutes.

2 minutes? Your so fast !! I took at least 30 or more minutes for it lol ... I go to "rest" : I fly behind my Battle Tower If you're a lucky man/woman .. You've find already some Dragon Skillbooks before this heavy battle, so you can put points in Dragon Spirit and so on!

That fight is suppose to be end in couple of minutes. It a freaking easy fight to be start off with. As far as I recall, there is only 1 dragon skill book available before battle tower being conquered. However there is few dragon armor parts available. If you miss out on them, that your problem already. You just need to time your attack and you can destroy those ballista easily. 1 fire sphere can almost take care of 1 ballista already. I actually hope there are more airborne fights in the game

Where do you go after you claimed your battle tower?
The portal only gives you to options: The battle shrine and Orbis Fjord.
I go down to the fjord, kill the goblins and balistas.
I ventured to broken valley AND BEHIND THE WATERFALL but they're too strong.
The waterfall has level 23 skeletons and Broken valley has level 27 stuff.
I"m only level 19. Where do I go now?

If I remeber right, I have more than 1 dragonskillbook found before that point in the game! But I going to the Battle Tower (first time I played D II) when I was level 21! And I had that time already killing all enemies in the Mine behind the waterfall in the Orobas Fjords + also that other Mine (swimming to that place!). Second time I wish to have my Battle Tower earlier! To be honest, I enjoying Divinity II still, after all I know about the ending! I don't know exactely what it is, but this game will keep my thoughts down Maybe the female character/hero gives me more satisfaction? I find the woman looks nice, walk more funky, swim attractive and take an elegant move after reaching the top of a ladder!!

Have you search a long(er) time in the Orobas Fjord Flying like a Dragon and/or walking in human form? There are many things to discover! Also new quests, hidden dungeons, etc! Have you, for example, find the High Hall Village? That's an anti-dragon zone! but you can go through the magic barriere as a human. If you play in some tatical way it is posible to kill enemies they are 3 or 5 levels higher! Give it a try! Maybe with Magic or a combination of your favourite skills? (Magic Blast is strong, Fire Wall too!) ... Success!! In the beginning (for me) it was not so simply to find my way and discover all places! And swimming in the water is also possible! Also changing in Dragonform when you're swimming in the water is possible. But if a rock, three or something stay close to you, the dragon wouldn't fly So, try out something!

You can discover many things in the anti-dragon-zones! Success! And don't forget to look by all bulging rocks on the mountainsides! so fly close to them and transform in human to have a better look! The chance you forget some place is very risky ... so do it carefully, explore all you can! And in High Hall Village are many thing you can do to grab more XP ...

This is a hard fight UNTIL you realize #1: There are NESTS that spawn Wyverns....and these need to be taken out FIRST #2 You can hide behind the Battle Tower to heal up and put yer armour on and spend yer Dragon Skill point.....It took a little time figure this out cuz its hard to pay attention to the VOICE when you are being wacked to peices.

The second book should be in the chicken room. If you like a challenge...go to Orobas Fjords before battle tower lol

I not touching any fjords mobs, beside clearing around 4 to 5 of it that camp at the knight shrine teleporting shrine. You will have more than enough levels if you are on the correct path. Rather save them for later. Without them, I already can reach 21 after the battle with laiken.

Hmm, ALL ways are possible That's why I love a free-to-go-world-RPG! The first time I played, I kill most of the goblins in the Orobas Fjords before having my Battle Tower! But this time I will go faster to the Battle Tower ! It is nice to do all things like you wish to do ... totally freedom, love it! (and that's why I find it very sadly I CAN'T go back to the Orobas Fjords after going IN the Hall of Echoes !!! )

Are you guys talking about the very first dragon fight when you first turn into a dragon? If so I'm pretty sure I had 7 dragon skill points already to spend at that time. I've got 19 right now at level 28 and just started exploring the fjords. Beat that lava necromancer and in there got like 2 or three I think. Stone's area I got like 5 at least. Look around outside your battle tower as well, there are some dragon skill books to be found. Save before you try and drop on those little tree branches and things though, I did learn that lesson the hard way numerous times. One question about that lava necromancer, Bardadas or something like that since he is on my mind. There is a chest in one of the teleporter caves and I can not find the key for that thing anywhere. Plus there is another encounter with that rhyming mage and there are all kinds of locked doors in there I could not find a key to any of them, now I am locked out from even getting back in.

That is impossible to have 7 dragon skill points on the first actual fight. The max is only 2 if you explore fjords, else just one. Once you defeat laiken, you can even teleport to other locations in your battle tower to grab those dragon skill books. All you can only do is go into the skill training arena and grab the dragon morph stone and change into dragon and start your 1st actual fight.
1. The key to that locked chest is the area with the moving platforms, right after you enter at the T intersection, it is on the alcoves in the wall
2. If you had make selection, all you need is to search for key in the area you being lock up. The key will just be somewhere in the area. If you teleport out through your battle tower, you might not get in back anymore, which I had never try so.

Well I'm pretty sure I am correct on the 7. There are a couple in the fjords, you get one or two in broken valley because I had no clue what they did at that time when I clicked on them as I saw no new options ever pop up.
There are a few to be found in your battle tower even before you go out and fight. One in the chest behind the throne, one on the bed or table by the bed by Sassan and then one on the table out by the trainer. So there is three right there that I remember for sure. Don't remember exactly where the other ones were in the fjords and broken valley, Maxos temple was one or two maybe.
I do remember distinctly clicking on a few dragon skill books before I even got the battle tower as it always said you got a dragon skill point but I never saw anything. I was expecting a new set of dragon options to pop up in your skill list.
As for the keys I looked all over those little rooms where I made the choices, good or evil choices I guess and could not find any keys Even went back and looked thru the rooms again after I got to the end and received my reward. Maybe because I gave up my skills and points and that meant I could not get the keys. No clue but there were no keys in those tiny rooms as there was no where but floor for them to be.
I'll just forget about going back to that moving platform chamber in the lava chamber to get that key for that other chest if I need to do those platforms over. I broke one mouse by slamming it down and nearly put my fist thru my monitor on those dang things. Hate those things as you have no control over your jumps, it's just a set distance and that is it and I always over jump.
