Hello,
I started a game and got to level 17 and was saving using autosave, i started a new game just to try a different class, but when i tried to load my old game i realised i had saved over it!!

Is there any way to get it back? Autosave backups?

If not lucky this game is so replayable!!

Thanks,
Max

If you only had your save on autosave and get overwritten, then your previous save is just gone. Try save more often using the quicksave function or even normal save.

Any ideas?

You could try a file recovery program such as FreeUndelete, but it is likely the previous save was overwritten. On Vista/7 there could possibly be a shadow copy of a previous quicksave (IIRC you need a pro version to officially restore shadow copies, but it is enabled in the home version by default [at least in Vista], and there is a third party program to view/restore files - don't recall the name).

In XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

or in Vista / Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders.

Where is the Quick Save Option? I always have to hit F9 to save but no difference if I hit escape then hit Save! Is there a quick-save that I am not familiar with as I did not see it on the Page with all the shortcut keys!

I may have missed it though?

I don't think it's assigned any key initially. Just go into options/controls and assign it to one of your function keys.

If you only had 1 quicksave and no other save, the only way left is to check on your autosave. If you autosave is base on your old toon, then consider yourself lucky.
