Ok, confused again. I went thru Maxos temple, beat the dragon guy, seen Laiken, was asked if I want to go to Sentinal Island, I said "no", because I wanted to complete Lost Soul quest and give book to archelogy guy. Anyway, somewhere in Maxos Temple my creature disappeard and also, MOST IMPORTANTLY, my freaking sword quit working, Im carrying one but when I go to hit the "x" button game says "I cant do that", or some stuff like that. I made sure the button was pressed down and was set as melee button. I cant go to inventory and choose another sword either. All I can get equipped is a bow . I have had to fight with just spells and such.

Did I mess up? Or do I have to go to Sentinal Island to be a sword guy again. Im stuck and frustrated. ..please hepl.

Can you unsummon / resummon your creature? I thought if it got too far behind it was suppose to teleport to you...

Try going to the equipment listing, and for your right hand remove the sword, then see if you can re-equip it or another weapon.

You can always go to sentinel island no matter what, as there are teleporting shrines at sentinel island where you can travel forth and back broken valley. I dont quite understand why you just cant equip sword but can equip bow. Maybe get to a merchant, simply buy a sword and try equip it? Worst case just load back an earlier save.

I have swords. When I press down on x button and it opens other screen to choose either empty, ranged or melee. I choose melee and accept. In equipment I have a sword equipprd. In the game I can see my sword hanging on my back. When I go to press x button to sue I get msg, I cant do that, in inventory creen it sayd somehting like, this is useless.
It doesnt make any sense, I have used sword and this button the whole game so far. I do not know what happened.

I guess you on 360 version right? I not sure how the 360 equip menu work though. Maybe you can check if your stats meet the requirement for the sword. Well I really no idea on it as it never happen on me when playing on pc. Best is the reload to stage where you didnt face such problem.

Yea .. on 360. Im at the right level. its the same sword Ive had the last 4 levels. I dont get it. I hope I dont have to go back and do stuff again. I have deleted most of the saved games, just 2 many. If I cant fix it ..it will suck. I'll just sell the game and move on. I have no intention of doing all that stuff again to get back to level 15,,no way. This really sucks big time.

Are you playing the PC version or the Console version of the game? If the PC version just press I to bring up your inventory screen and swap out your weapons there... Also if you are playing with the PC version you and switch weapons that you have as alternates using F1,F2,and F3 .... hope this helps you.......Oo I see you are on the console.

Don't give up the ship yet..... Have you read your manuel?..... Are you able you access your backpack?

Did you try hitting start, selecting Equipment, then select the sword, and 'make empty'?
Try unequipping everything, and see if that resets whatever is causing the problem.

Thanks for suggestions guys. Somehow I found a way to mess it up. There was no way to make sword work again. I eventually had to go back to lvl 13 and play back thru to lvl 15 again. It was a pain. I couldnt remember what I had done and not done. Hope it doesnt happen again

Always practice to save more often, then you will have less trouble with this game.

if you still have that game saved check to see if u have a shield equipped because if you do you cant use a two handed sword.
