First what is the real difference between difficulty levels. I'm playing easiest right now.

I entered the Hall of echoes and got swarmed by a horde of flying beasts (at least ten), I had three options in my eye.
1. Fight the swarm then kill spawning towers.
2. Kill spawning towers and then them...
3. Fly past them and look for a safe place so I can rest and use gurella warfare as I have in past.

All three ended up with me dying, within seconds. I couldn't even fly past the darn nests even with 5 level summoned friend. I'm level 33 I think. Is this suppossed to be impossible? I get killed faster than full potions can keep me alive... Sure I missed some side quests, but on normal diff Ishould be able to bypass all side quests and not get waylaid in a few hits... It irked me so I restarted and trying to maximize leveling.

How many Dragon Skillbooks have you found? There are many! I played easiest and no problems with that battle.
But all my dragonskills comes up to 5 points and I had still some skillpoints left.

Edit: sorry, I lie: I don't used the dragonskill "Summon Friend"! I put no points in that skill.

I had 5 in fire burst which is max right? Only one that really counts isn't it. I could try the shield skill next time but hadn't needed it for any battle previously so not sure if I had points in it. All battle previously was easy, then get killed in five hits a bit of a leap up in hardness. I also couldn't take on the ice fortress area in orb. fords. Didn't think of using shield till now haha... I don't think I put points into it though... Next time I will with theis battle in mind.

Your level makes the biggest difference. I went in at level 32 just to check it out and realized right away that my level wasn't high enough. There was no place to hide where I could recooperate as needed.

I do like summon friend, it helps take some of those wyverns off you for a bit.

The summon wyvern will get 1 hit ko easily in hall of echoes. Just try out with shield skill and should able to get by easily. I going to try myself this time at around lvl33 to end the game, since finish at higher level difficulty has no challenge at all.

So just need a higher level. Seems like I'm seeing that alot, even I have given that advice wink.

Unfortunately in that game there isn't much more exp to exploit I screwed up in doing quests then creatures on that one. The only area with people left is beyond my ability frown. I'm all for not holding the player's hand but this is rediculous. Just because I chose to do things differently than designer planned or missed a few side quests, I got screwed on much needed exp. On easy this shouldn't matter as much, I shouldn't have to scour every inch of the map just to survive the next area. Yes on hard I can see this, I guess now that I know how to cheat the system I'll be much higher level next time round but still...

What is the real difference between easy and hard, just some auto homing? Do you get more/less exp? I'll have to try it on hard sometime. Maybe the slider is broken as I had it reset on me a few times...

I dont think quests can be screwed till affect hardly on your levels. Basically if you miss some quests in the early days, it wont actually affect much. Majority will finish laiken battle at around level 18 to 20. As for quest after battle tower, I dont see any ways for you to screw it. If you miss it, just do it, since you can pretty much access any where already. Just make a save before entering hall of echoes and all will be fine.

As for differences between easy and hard difficulties, I can give you example in terms of damage, hp and damage receive, as I just did a testing since I trying to do some reloading on malachite gems. Below are testing case which I done on lvl20, 21 imps in depleted ore mines with my lvl22 ranger, with the same equipments. The test is done with latest patched 1.03 installed.

Easy Mode
Normal bow damage on imps: 140+ onwards till around 170+
Rank 5 explosive arrow damage on imp warrior: 600+ and instant death
Imp mage magic missile damage on ranger: 5 damage x 2 hit
Projectiles homing: Almost close to non, can side step to evade any imp range and mage range damage

Hard Mode
Normal bow damage on imps: 70+ onwards till around 90+
Rank 5 explosive arrow damage on imp warrior: 350+, need 5 casts of explosive arrow to confirm death. 4 casts close to near death, and can be kill with 1 to 3 shots of normal arrow
Imp mage magic missile damage on ranger: 15+ damage x 2 hit
Projectiles homing: High homing ability. Can even hit me with side rolling. Dont even think of jumping up to evade, as 90% will get hit

Beside that, I notice in easy mode, mobs tend to be more generous, they drop loot very often.

Enemies cautiousness is also very high in high difficulty mode. I had ranger stealth rank 5, and sometimes range type mobs can attack me before even their name being display with my cross hair pointing at them. And they tend to spam skills very often.

Edit: Some updates. Level 20 bandit archers tends to spam explosive arrows on their 1st hit and tend to spam it wherever they can in high difficulty. It deals bout 90 damage on my ranger with 40%+ on range resistance. If unluncky, they can easily kill me with some critical explosive arrow aargh

Well, here's what I did.

It was sorta a hit and run strategy. Just hover over the entire field, as high as you can go, go past a nest tower, and hit it with a fireball. Duck up again, fly to the next one, and use fireball on that one, then duck up again. And repeat til all four are dead. I had 1000+ health when it was over. And, if you find a time when they are swarming on you, use the Summon Friend one. Also, if you want to get a nest that is surrounded by Memory Eaters, it'd be wise to put on a dragon sheild and heal before you rush in. wink

Hope this helps!

soulwing: The problem was I tried that and they followed hitting me the hole time I fled frown and of course killing me.

pattywakk: You have to go into the mine offices and free the people, you'll get a key for cave entrance. I think you get sigil by simply defeating the boss monster...

I stayed in the alcove behind the door sill and let my demon and creature kill the other minions there, periodically moving out enough to help kill with exploding arrows and magic blast, after most are busy with my creature and demon then go out and deal with Ba'al

The most important thing for the final battle is, make sure you are well equipped. With some ok hp pool and good equipment, you wont die so easily, even if is in high difficulty mode. I dont even need any summons or creature for the last battle.
