Hi guys,

Just wanted to mention that I had a similar issue with the RPG "Legend: Hand of God" when it was first released.

The problem wound up being an "older" Physx .ini file that shipped with the game and was not compatible with the new Physx driver that was updated upon install.

By deleting that older .ini file and THEN patching with the latest Physx driver the game played perfectly.

Just thought I'd toss it out there as possibly something to check

Btw - just got the game in the mail today, I've installed, patched and de-fraged the install drive...now to see if I can play lol

Very interesting, please give a follow up post, when I start the game I get the game shipped with an older version of Physx, and I have a few issues when playing that normal diagnostics can't seem to find, please let us know how things turned out

Well I was just relating an issue I'd experienced/seen with that different game. I was reading the forums while I was installing D2 and thought I'd mention it to those having the stuttering issue.

Sadly I'm having my own problem(along with several others trying to play the game it seems) with D2 and not being able to get past the "New Game" load screen

When I installed the game I never received any "error" or compatibility issue message...just get a CTD and the prompt to report the crash to Microsoft.

Pity, try the original .exe and see if the game plays
