Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Hellgate thing

What in the Sam Hill is that hellgate thing for? I defeated it easily but it seems to have no relation to anything else in the game. Am I missing something?

No, it`s just an unimportant side quest, easy exp.

OH I see, you met Jagon and defeated him, went thru the gates and met Laiken

Their talking about the big evil looking glowing ball with tentacles outside the mine entrance in Broken Valley. Each time you read the book near it some black ring guys attack. After you kill 3 waves a demon attacks. When the demon dies the hell gate blows up and you get some decent loot along with a demon claw if you didn't get it from bellegar's demon. I recently beat with my ranger character and got a +6 melee damage charm.

That's the thing I meant. It seems like it should be part of something but it's just a non sequiter except that you can get good stuff if you're in the right place in the story. The first time I found it I defeated everything and got absolutely nothing for my trouble!

The best the demon can drop is blesses charm, +4 to stats, or +8 to melee damage.
