Yes, 5000XP is the best you can get. If you ask her for an item, you get which is probably mroe valuable in the long run than that XP.

Oh well it depends on situation. If you already had bangle which provide you wisdom, then take the exp, which is what I did, since the bangle provided by the well is kinda weak as well. The only needed stat is the +1 wisdom on it.
