Thanks to those who answered my last post but when I collected the four ropes I already had one rope in my inventory.I now have a 3 and a 2 I need to drop one rope from the 2 but cannot split them this means when I teleport I arrive back at cave entrance. I have 5 dwarven ale from Rimmer,2002 GOLD,1 Teleport,4 maps but 5 bleeding ropes and nothing else oh! I have the breast plate should I give up on this quest this time round.Whats special about the laurian armour currently wearing the fiends silver plate fully charmed.

Owch, these two together are 2 from the ropes you need, so dont drop them!
Do you have a save before you get these ropes?? Because its hard to say witch one is the correct one. But on the otherhand... I did this with using only one rope. The first, after that i opend almost every door with lockpick lvl 5.

Drag the stack out of your inventory and hold the control key down when you drop to split up the ropes. You may need two attempts to find the correct rope.
The Larian armour is potentially better than the silver armour. The easter egg area is worth checking out even if you are not planning to switch, though.
