Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Old cave - Book of the Dead

I have been in the first 2 rooms and shut the generators down, took out the Nest and killed barnabus but when I go into the 3rd room where the Book of the Dead is located, I come to a locked door that I cannot pick.

Did I miss a key?

Hmmmm, I just checked ny log book and it says I gave Igor the Book of the Dead, is there more then one in the game?

Also it says to tell Sassan, which I think remember doing tog et the upgrade but not sure if it upgraded or not. What is the difference between the basic Necro platform and the upgraded one?

There is just 1 boook of the Dead.

But sorry, I can't remember a locked door in that Old Cave...

I even didn't do any research what the differences are between both Necromancer platforms, the not upgraded or the upgraded one. Somebody can explain?

Just ONE "Book of the Dead" and it is obtained by using the uppermost portal in the cave.
Upgrades are supposed to allow your trainers to give you access to more powerful items/creatures. Also drops the number of items needed to create potions/enchantments. In the necromancy ring it also adds a more BLOODY look!

BTW- isnt the book of the dead in Sinister Cave????

The only locked doors I recall in that cave were automatically opened after defeating some undead. Maybe if you defeat Barnabus first the undead are killed and you can not get in?
If you have a recent save, try reloading and heading there before killing Barnabus. If not, it isn't a huge loss. There is a chest there, containing...
