Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks So.....When your a mage.....

When your a pure mage what kind of gear should you use? As in are there any armors and weapons you can buy at the very begging thawt will help you long enough till you get to the areas where you find set pieces? OR do you have to wander around looking the same way you did when started the game untill you get to those areas? Just wanna know because I'm worried that my mage might fall behind with lack of good gear...

Actually Untill i got Firewall as a Mage i used a dual wield set of weapons for instances where i had a couple warriors run in on me. Something that buffed up my melee resist when i used them...

it was fun using them too!

In my experience it seems that Armor Pieces are VERY random, although you can watch for certain stats at the vendors. I have found that untill you can access Aleroth vendors and Your Class set in the Fortresses, its easiest to just go with what you loot and occasionally pick up at the vendor.
For a pure Mage my priority is on Magic, Ranged and Melee protection in that order. You get high magic protection just by investing in Intelligence.
This is just my observation and opinion so i am sure there are lots of others!
