Okay, Im old. I freely admit that. But this game is touted as an RPG. Not an action game. If I wanted to friggin play Tomb Raider, Id go buy that. However, I bought this game, and all in all I like it, BUT because of my poor eye-hand coordination, I cant get past the part where you have to jump in Lovis' Tower or Maxos Temple.
I made it past Lovis' once, then suffered for my lack of child-like reflexes in Maxos.
So, lemme ask you , is there any way I can go another way, without having to run/jump/fall/repeat?

Are you playing the PC version or Xbox? On the PC a gamepad would probably make jumping accurately much easier than using a keyboard and mouse.
I actually have not found jumping to be a problem in this game (normally I try to avoid jumping, especially if timed).

Hi Raze,

Just to confirm, the PC version of this game supports a gamepad? Does it have to be an Xbox gamepad or will it work with any gamepad?

I've just ordered this game today and although I still have to get through DD and BD I'm looking forward to Div2 hehe.

Cheers,

Raven

Hi,

I known this problem wink I have also often problems with this, especally, FAST moves(or with limited time!) in combination with run/jumping! And I'm not old, just 37 years, and always had this problem when I was a child.

I Maxos Temple I have the first time doing more than 10 times over again a puzzle where I must JUMP to platforms smirk ...
I play on Xbox, so I have a gamepad!
Later on I discover IF I use the left trigger (to focus) when I jump to another platform etc, I goes sometimes (much) better! smile

In the beginning I was a little bit disappointed about all these jumping-puzzles etc in Divinity 2, but later on I take them as a "challenge" and when I had done that first jumping-puzzle in Maxos Temple it give me more self-confidence ! laugh

Once I played a RPG/adventure/action game for Kids with fast/time limited jumping-movements in, more than in Divinity II are, and for sure I had many problems with it!! :hihi:

Yeah, it took me about 15 times to do the platform jump. Thankfully, I could immediately save. Anyway, I can sympathize with your plight.

Yeach, I too save after each successful jump laugh ...otherwise I was busy for much more time with each jumping-puzzle :hihi:

Sometimes I nearly give it up, but thankfully I can save each time wink AND I'm very patient ...

As much as there is to like about this game, I would have put it on the shelf already, if not for an over-abundance of PATIENCE. Some say it's a virtue...I question that logic quite often, as does my wife...she thinks I am crazy-forgiving more than half the time.

Old person here as well.

The trick for me was making sure not to jump at the edge of a platform or whatever else I was jumping from. The higher the DEX the further and higher you can jump so jump from the middle of the platforms. It helps sometimes also to have your char walk rather than run on some of the jumps to soften (lessen) the jump.

If it possible (it is in the Barbatos quest), the last jump down after all the tedious jumping you can just press U go back to the Battle Tower and wing it back to the ent - damn that last jump.

And a whole lot of spamming Quicksave!

It took me a good 15 - 20 minutes the first go rounds because I was becoming frustrated, but now that I have already done it and playing other char's it isn't so bad. Be patient with yourself =)

It's very hard to estimate where your character will land after jumping. I die a million times in Barnabus' maze, always.

Actually this is not true. Your jump gets a one time boost after a certain story event but this is completely independant of stats or skills. The jump is the same for everyone.

Never really paid attention, just noticed after I bumped up my DEX my char was jumping like a rabbit compared to the starting jump where she couldn't even jump a cross the tiny streams in Broken Valley Village =/

We should really have more control over jumping if it is going to be such a monumental part of the game. (Completing quest)

Are you sure this didn't coincide with the Talana cutscene? smile

I'm about to start another char - so I'll pay attention this time. Seriously though I could have sworn my char was jumping better just about the time I completed all the Broken Valley Village quest and was headed to the Talana cutscene. Mainly I thought this because I use the stream to jump back and forth to kill those goblins.

So Macbeth, what is the deal with my char jumping like she did at lvl 1 while in Uptons - Abanayabar cellar after Talana that is? There is another the PC will jump as if lvl 1 again (cellar), but I didn't write it down (old age = bad memory)

Yes, I noticed this go round about the jumping after the Talana cut scene =)

You also do the low level jump inside the harbour building.

Is there a reason for the low level jump in these areas?

I notice I have a lower level jump while in some enclosed areas with lower ceilings.
Which makes sense to some extent.
