i passed the scene with the dragon and got kicked by damien and now face a serious issue i cannot climb the ladder to the broken bridge that leads to the leaver that opens the citadel door wiith the crossbow statue so can someone tell me how i can climb this ladder when i hit e climb the ladder nothing i do afterwards works thanks for your help

Have you first killed (the most of) the skeletons nearby the tower? Best is doing this first!

Do the same time hit a enemy AND climb a ladder isn't possible!

i killed all undead but when i get to the ladder and it says climb ladder i cant do anything just rotate the camera so how do i climb this ladder ? and please an answer that helps not something i already know please

Once you select the ladder, moving forward should have your character climb up, while backwards is down. That's how it works on the Xbox, anyway (left stick up/down to climb up/down), but I doubt the design would be different on the PC. Did you try the W/S or arrow keys?

of course i tried so you say i must face the ladder without that my charcter is in sight is that it ?

the problem is the ladder not the enemies i do know that my words where harsh but getting stuck in this issue makes me angry i am sorry

Okay, no problem bloom.

But a question:
Do you play on PC or Xbox?

I play on xbox ... and If I'm right, as your hero see the icon "ladder", push A on the gamepad and than walk forwards (using the stick for going forwards);
If you stop using the stick fro going forwards, you stop climbing and hanging on the ladder ...
It can be you fall from the ladder if you accidentally using the stick sideways, that's possible.

So, keep the button until you're up. Your hero will go automatically to the next platform (then stop using the button) with a sideways jump (men) or a nice twist (female).

Sorry if I'm not so clearly .. but I climb now all ladders in Divinity II without thinking about HOW to climb them .. I do it automatically, like I bike or riding in a car.

When you are close to the ladder, on the correct side and with the crosshairs pointing at it, a message should show up on the screen (similar to doors, chests, etc) indicating it can be selected. Doing so should have your character walk up to the ladder and grab onto it (sheathing any weapons, if required), at which point moving forward/back should have your character climb up/down the ladder.

i have the pc version and here it is like this you go to the ladder then it says hit e to climb ot right mouse button and afterwards you are stuck you can only rotate the camera but cant either move forward or backwards so i try to figure out what am i doing wrong all you can do is view out the hero and see the ladder close but thats all and since the auto save only works on certain events you are thrown back to the chapel where you put the ghost to rest

It sounds like a problem with the game itself, rather than you doing anything wrong.

Does hitting E again do anything? I'm pretty sure you should be able to get off a ladder by selecting it again, or hitting the 'cancel' button (don't recall exactly).

Have you installed the patch?

Maybe a clean un-install and re-install of the game an patch would help? (ie if the problem was a corrupt animation file, or something)

I don't recall anyone else reporting this problem...

thanks but to get off the ladder you must first get on and no i did not install a patch so far maybe that is the main problem hope the save games will work after the patch

I know this sounds obvious, but am playing on a PC too so will go through it!! Go up to the ladder, face it, prerss 'e' then press the 'up' arrow key. You should be climbing! Kepp pressing until she flips off at the top! Hope this helps
