Thanks to Raze and sheer persistance I was able to finish the end battle which was nothing short of nearly impossible. What I used were a combination of mana savers, life leeches, and a devastating whirlwind attack. The key to remember is you need at least 1 point of hide in shadows and a powerful creature. What you do is go invisible at the start and hide away from everyone. They will lose interest and just stand around. Wait until you can go invisible again and summon your creature and load up on defensiive potions/shield skill. Sneak up to the paladins and take them out one at a time and go hide again with invisibility. SAVE AFTER EVERY KILL!!! Keep doing this with your creature and surprise attack and you will end up with Zandalor and Lucian. Corner Lucian and your creature should target him too. Keep at him and don't let up. He will perish eventually. Do same for Zandalor hide/power-up/summon creature/etc. Keep at Zandalor and he too will fall. I did this run and gun style on the low setting as I did not dare try medium as the fight was brutal but it can be accomplished. My question to you folks is would it have made a big difference on the medium setting, and did I really beat the game being only on low? I feel I did. I enjoyed this game immensely and am waiting for the expansion. Good hunting gamers.

Several people have gotten through tough spots by lowering the game difficulty to easy, so raising it to medium would make that fight more challenging. However, now that you have a technique down that works for you, you would probably be able re-do the fight on medium, if you wanted to. Even with a save before the hall of echoes, you might be able to visit a few merchants and upgrade enough equipment to make a noticeable difference (if you hadn't checked them that level, you could save first, and then keep loading until they offered something useful), or re-skill in the battle tower.

If you get to the end it counts. Beating the game on easy may not be as 'good' as medium or hard, but its not like anyone is keeping track. Nobody gets everything perfect in one playthrough, anyway (unless maybe they are closely following a walkthrough/guide, which kind of defeats the purpose of playing IMNSHO), so if dropping the difficulty bothers you personally, then make another character and play again, using what you know to make a better character build and get all the quests, etc. If it doesn't bother you, it is pretty safe to just assume you could do significantly better with a second character.
