I am playing Draconis and am really enjoying it, I can't believe the mediocre ratings this game has gotten from some sources (basically the UK/US sites which also underrated the Gothic series and Two Worlds).

In my opinion this game is as good as Fallout 3 and the Gothic series - I like it more than Dragon Age or Mass Effect 2 (which are both excellent games!)

Things I like:

- The bossy women in this game! From Rhode to Talana who comment on your actions

- Openness and difficulty, like Gothic you can go everywhere, but you can get beaten up pretty easily, until you level up and return

- Your Pet, creating and modifying your creature

- You can fall without dying - takes out the tedium of reloading after your basejump from the tower goes wrong

- The dragon knight somersault jump!

- The different weapon and armour types

- The jokes and funny comments!

- Mindreading - I mindread everybody, you sometimes get fascinating comments even though it's pointless for XP

- You can search chests/loot with your weapon drawn - most games make you pointlessly sheath your weapon to loot!

- English versions only: The accents!
It's nice to hear UK regional accents from Scouse to Birmingham, Welsh and urban London in the game! North American players may have to play with subtitles on though...

Congratulations to Larian and am looking forward to the add-on and sequels.

Two Worlds is actually not bad with the latest 1.7 patch. At least it's playable then, without bugs & crashes all the time.

Only thing that is still horrible, is voice acting & translation.

Two Worlds is ok.....its just the stupid run the guy has and the way they speak inda olde-english it gets plain boring other than that its okay we all know divinity rules!!

nice conclusion my favourate was the bossy women in the game there isn't quite a force like an angry moody woman

Ha ha - that's right, I like fiesty women in real life too!

If you overlook the bad voice acting, Two Worlds was a fun game - nice, varied exploration, interesting armour/spells (combining items to create more powerful versions). Though the ending was confusing (was it all a dream?).

I don't quite know why, but european developed games like Ego Draconis, Gothic Series, Two Worlds etc never review well in UK/USA - maybe because the questing/storyline isn't as straightforward as in Dragon Age type games? The only exception I can think of is The Witcher which got pretty good reviews.

There aren't that many RPG type games released compared to say Shooters or Strategy games, so I give them all a chance and usually find them pretty playable. I'm looking forward to Two Worlds 2, Divinity II: Flames of Vengeance and Alpha Protocol.

No I don"t agreed
Lets take Drakensang
Its good game and IGN gave it 7.6
Now you ask why is that
well becaose of sound and party but everything else is too good

Gothic 3 is good game but combat is pure crap
mix it with game log and especially story you get the idea
now I don"t expect good story from game like gothic but something is better than nothing

Then we have Risen
IGN gave it 8.6 and I don"t know why beacose game is crap
From game that only offer exploration with minimum story it is very badly done
with one town only game is sh*t

Divinity 2 7.0
Quite agree

I agree,
Risen isn't at all what I wish to see in a RPG! A great disappointment for me ...
And the combat isn't intuitive at all frown ... a bad thing and for sure! For example, I find Oblivion much much better than Risen! delight

I liked Risen a whole lot more than Oblivion. Oblivion's world felt very stale and uninteresting while Risen it just felt more organic and alive.

I really dislike the leveling system in Oblivion too...felt cumbersome.

i like the strategy guides developers offer i know some game companies just want to offer their customers some help but for £10 i can buy an action figurine for that, i know im a cheap and stingy gamer but....cmon a action figurine... and yes i am 3 years old, i don't mind spending an extra 6 hours looking for loot coz thats what an RPG is

kill some bad guys and level
find some loot
kill some more bad guys and maybe complete a quest depending on how your feeling

Nerds built the world we know today....can't live with them, can't live without them

a question for the fanboy of Bioware games bit off topic but oh well....

i've been playing dragon age recently and have been enjoying myself thorougly but i'm eager to get all achievements but there are two that involve romancing yourself with two men in the game, and i have friends and i don't want to seem a bit camp i have some reputation i want to uphold, just wanted to know what you did in that situation?

quite an akward question but there it is

Hi,

for me the same feeling with Divine Divinity! That was my first RPG I played and Ooo my God, what a very good RPG! delight
Since that time I know I must keep an eye on what Larian is making next smile !
Beyond Divinity was not so good like DD, but now Divinity II hmmm... I love that game!

I find a 2D RPG nice to play!!

I love Manuals too ... A game without a manual is a great disappointment for me :hihi:
